ONE FREAKING PASS!!! Anybody grabbing at the roots 3, 4, 5 times then doing 3 passes along the shaft has the wrong flat iron and technique. That's how you get heat damage. This lady should do a clinic on keeping hair healthy while using heat. She gets it. GO SIS!😍

Good technique, nice sheen, nice trim that gave body and good results. One thing that may help your videos in the future, please don't forget to show the finished product from the front. Face framing is a vital part of a successful haircut. Is the result one of balance & suitability to the facial shape of your client? It matters.
@paulailonze80675 жыл бұрын
Just curious: do you have clients you flat iron regularly who are natural and actually wear their hair naturally? Basically, would you endorse a natural getting flat irons every 1-2 months? Also, do you do hair consultations to assess the health and whether it could sustain such heat if someone were to want blowouts done regularly?

Naturallista you got this! If you want to get more knowledge on haircutting follow Matt Beck on Free Salon Education. He went to a Paul Mitchell School like Janay and I did just in different states but exact same training. He also has guests that shows different techniques on doing things. He does a lot of collaborations with other Cosmetologists. You should also follow Sam Villa. I learned some quick cutting techniques from him. Make sure you get tools that are going to last you a long time. Learn how to cut Men’s hair because it’s becoming a huge thing for Cosmetologists now.

Hey Janay, How do you prevent heat damage? I haven’t gotten my hair straightened in 5 years because of it. I know you can use heat protectant but, will my hair revert back?
@arleneaugustahair83935 жыл бұрын
Amyre’LaShae using the heat protectant correctly. A lot of people just spray and start using a heat tool. You have to brush the product in so it can touch the other strands of your hair. You also have to know what to set the temperature on for different textures of hair. You also need to know how much hair to part so all the strands are being pressed. She went to a Paul Mitchell school like I did so we got the same exact training.

You can tell it’s just her hair texture. My hair is similar in that the moment you apply any heat, it’s instantly silkened. Though it’s coily and appears dry in its natural state, it’s actually fine and silky
