Wow, this is super helpful! I never knew about the sync option. I would always make it into a preset, then go to the library tab with the photos selected, and apply the present to all of the photos using the quick adjustment panel. This is so such easier. Thank you!

This is meant in a constructive, helpful way. When I found this video, I wanted to know how to batch edit, and I wasn't interested in all the other editing info. I suggest abbreviated versions of these videos that allow people to get to the info they need without having to ff and hunt plus offer the more in-depth videos, as you have a big following for them.

I feel like you can't go wrong with Scotland - it's just so beautiful 😍 We didn't do any tours, just drove around ourselves, we like to stop in too many places to go on a tour haha. @juliatrotti5 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I just use a little backpack I got from eBay one day and put a camera insert into it. Most of the day I have my camera on me though so I usually put it away in the bag at the end of the day. One of my tips is that I personally prefer not to take a camera bag with me just because you never know what kind of attention it can draw. And I also like to keep what I bring with me as minimal as possible so I'm not weighed down if we go for a hike/exploring, etc!

I’d love to see how you make a whole trip cohesive - as in the cityscapes and the highlands as one. We came back from our holiday two weeks ago and I had a hard time trying to get photos of the whole country to look like they belonged together.
@juliatrotti5 жыл бұрын
That's what I did in this video! We had the cityscape (first couple of images) and landscape photos that I edited all in the same way to make them match :) These are the actual steps I take with any travel photos (even weddings and photoshoots) I'm editing to make them all look like they belong together!
@TheCloSmo5 жыл бұрын

@juliatrotti5 жыл бұрын
Mladen Djoric Since these are just holiday shots I personally prefer the way the light looks at wider apertures compared to something sharper. If I was shooting landscapes professionally or for a client I would approach things differently, but again these photos are just for me so I’m happy shooting at 1.4! The main part/focus of the landscape in my shots are sharp 😊

Also, can you do a video on how to export photos from both photoshop and Lightroom so they look fine on your phone? My colours are completely off and I’ve exported them as sRGB so not sure what’s going on. But yours seem to look amazing all the time
@juliatrotti5 жыл бұрын
A big tip I have on that which admittedly took me a while to work out when I first started was to make sure your camera, photoshop, lightroom, computer, etc are all in the same picture profile - either sRGB or adobe98. This will ensure that your colours won't shift as you move your images through different programs, hope that helps! The other thing to keep in mind is that you could calibrate one of your computer monitors or laptops (the main place that you spend the majority of time editing) so that way if the colours in that image look right there, then it doesn't matter what they look like on different screens as you know your editing screen is "right" since you've calibrated it.

@juliatrotti5 жыл бұрын
If I was shooting landscapes professionally or for a client, it would be a different story. But since these are all just personal shots, I just like the way the light looks at wider apertures and I also prefer to have a little bit of foreground blur as well!

Hey Julia, big fan here. Today I noticed that Instagram reduces the quality of my pictures not immediately, but a HOURS AFTER I post them. I'm aware that pictures uploaded into Instagram will not have the same exact quality as if they were displayed in my laptop. However, I didn't know that a picture quality could change overtime, hours or days after it was uploaded. This makes me extremely sad, since I was planning on making an account focused on landscape, but now I feel like it would be a waste of time if all my pictures will have a lower quality hours after I upload them. I shoot RAW, adjust to 4:5 / 8x10 format, and export as JPEG/sRGB at quality 76, 1080x1350 and res 300 in Lightroom. Any way to avoid the compression algorithm? I would appreciate any insight or help.
@juliatrotti5 жыл бұрын
I have a video up on my channel about how to upload higher res images to Instagram if you do a search through my channel! I find that making the smallest possible file that's as high res as possible tends to bypass the compression Instagram adds to your photos. Hope that helps :)
