Ideal for solo travellers, in this video I'll show you the easiest, cheapest and fastest way to get to Bangkok's city centre (Siam) using the BTS skytrain and public bus that leaves right outside Don Mueang International Airport.

The BTS from mochit station is the Sukumvite line, which also goes all the way to Ekkimai bus station where one can get the bus down to Pattaya

I just went to this airport today and took the red line SRT for the first time. I always did this bus before. I think I prefer the red line. It involves more walking inside the station but it’s more comfortable and no waiting outside for the bus

@@travelwithsteven What about going back to Don Mueang Airport? Do I use and wait at the same bus stop (bus stand) at Mochit? And what’s the schedule like? Thank you, Steven.

Immediately after disembarking from bus at Mo Chit there is the MRT underground. Don't be confused as the elevated BTS is further down.
@mikethompson35349 күн бұрын
I believe you just walk to the red line upstairs (15 minute walk)and take the red line to Bang sue station and from there to the MRT to Sukhumvit in Asok or any place else in downtown Bangkok
@travelwithsteven8 күн бұрын
@@mikethompson3534 You can, but it’s a very long walk.

Hi friend how about if we want to get to sukhumvit from don mueang os there any bus or shuttle from the airport
@mattbosley3531 Жыл бұрын
Actually taking the SRT Dark Red Line train to Bang Sue to the MRT Blue Line seems to be cheaper. Might take a bit longer though.
@amichi10 Жыл бұрын
You can walk to the SRT from DMK T2, be aware signage is not good and must be on the correct level (either 2 or 3). It is a bit of a walk, I did it to verify it was possible. SRT is not crowded at all back in Jan 2023.

Hi Steve,, A nice informative video. But can I ask, is the "Green Suhkumvit Line" from Don Muang and option yet?
@travelwithsteven Жыл бұрын
Hi Bill, thanks for the feedback, much appreciated. Unfortunately there is still no connection to the BTS Sukhumvit line at the Don Mueang terminal as yet. However it's really easy to catch the A1 bus that leaves the terminal (outside gate 6) every 10 mins. It will drop you right outside Mo Chit BTS station where you can connect to the BTS Sukhumvit line (as outlined in the video)... I've found this to be a really fast way to get into the city (SIAM) without having to sit in traffic.

Hi Steve, thank you for your video :) And I'd like to ask if we buy the 1-day pass card for BTS, can we use it for any BTS line? Or just the same color line where we bought the card? I read on their website "Travelling within the system beyond time limit (120 mins.)", I don't really get that part, maybe you can help? thank you!
@travelwithsteven8 ай бұрын
Hi there - Yes you can use it on any BTS (Skytrain) line. It's really great as you can travel all around BBK. I'm not familiar with the 120 min time limit (and I haven't been affected by this whenever I've been traveling). The single day pass is valid until 12 midnight on the same day. So if you buy it at say 10:00am on Monday morning you can use it as many times as you like on all the different BTS Skytrain lines until midnight that evening.. Note: that it doesn't work on the MRT (subway train lines), just BTS Skytrain.

Thank you for these information. I have few Queries, Is Visa on Arrival available at DMK Airport? Which is the best place to stay in Bangkok for a tourist in terms of places to visit.
@travelwithsteven Жыл бұрын
Hi Manoneeta, thanks for your message. Yes, there is a Visa on Arrival counter at Don Mueang airport before you get to immigration. It's well signposted once you disembark from your aircraft. In terms of the best place to stay, it really depends on your budget and what you're planning to do while there. Bangkok is a wide and varied city with accommodation to suit many styles and budgets from backpackers through to high end luxury. For ease of getting around I recommend staying somewhere in close proximity to a BTS skytrain station. Sukhumvit is one example with dozens of hotels popular with tourists due to its proximity to shopping malls, restaurants, spas etc. Another option is riverside (along the Chao Phraya River), which is a bit quieter but still accessible to the city centre (Siam) via Saphan Taksin BTS station. A number of riverside hotels offer a free shuttle ferry to and from the Saphan Taksin jetty at regular intervals.

Where do you board the A1 bus if you were traveling from Mi Chit to the airport instead?
@lhloong333 ай бұрын
Hi Steven which stop is nearer to BTS Mochit ? The first or the second one ?
@travelwithsteven3 ай бұрын
After the bus leaves the airport precinct, it's the second stop. Pretty much everyone will get off the bus at the Mo Chit BTS station stop (about 20 mins travel from Don Mueang airport). The bus driver and conductor are always friendly and helpful so you can ask them if you are unsure.
@daveaugustwade5 ай бұрын
do you think i could take the bus with bags and suitcases as i see the bus would be crowded
@travelwithsteven5 ай бұрын
I've managed with a 20kg check in suitcase and smaller carry-on case. I guess it depends how many you have..
