Thank you for your comment. Exposure to sunlight will cause bacteria or algae to develop (after a month or two), but you can easily replace the string or bottle.

You maybe wanna wrap the string in aluminum foil + lid with hole + bury the bottle deeper into the ground (to keep the temperature down).

Try using a large Kombucha bottle. They make them with thick quality glass. That way you have more weight to stand up against the wind and you won’t have the sun heating up your plastic and causing it to leech poison into the ground. Most of us don’t grasp that when plastic is heated up it causes that and it is toxic. You couldn’t pay me enough to drink water from grocery stores. For whatever reason they ALWAYS store it in direct sunlight on pallets before selling it. Funny how unhealthy we have become the last 30yrs. Go with glass!

Most people have ZERO clue that plastic leeches poisons when it heats up. Not many people question that grocery stores put bottled water (huge scam to concentrate the poison directly into you) on pallets on the south side of their buildings in direct sunlight before taking it into the store. We have been programmed to think that “they” have our best interest at heart when they don’t. “They” have a vested interest in keeping us unhealthy because that makes THEM money. It is very literally evil.

Thank you for your comment. A 2-liter bottle can water your plant for 3 days. Pothos needs regular watering, but not too much to risk yellowing the leaves (Leave the soil surface to dry out between waterings). In winter, watering is less frequent, but don't let the substrate dry out completely.
