We don't have the humidity here for that. Love watching you create living art in any case. Thanks for taking the time and effort to share your skills.

The humidity levels in Bangalore where I live is also quite low for such setups. Currently I am visiting my hometown in West Bengal and the humidity levels are higher here. Hopefully it should be fine. Thank you Michael.

It is beautiful and lovely to watch. I loved the addition of your voice. It is much easier to follow when someone explains it. No humidity at my place though. I will put it in jar and call it kokedama terrarium. I wanted to tell you something. I am growing Portulaca in a terrarium setting now because of winter. It is content and gives color.

I'll update you on the Portulaca definitely. Right now it is in a large plastic jar.I covered 1/5 of the jar with damp gravel, a handful of dirt and a handful of coconut coir and planted the plants. It is happy for now. I am also trying Kalanchoe with just damp coco coir as substrate.@@TheUrbanNemophilist

I use old socks to make my Kokedama balls. I like this plant the most for mine, Jungle Cactus - rhipsalis hatiora salicornioides. I hang some of mine using a diy yarn tied plant hanger. And some I use a piece of yarn to wick water from a container to the ball for easy watering. I also like the smaller varieties of English ivy (Hedera helix) for Kokedama balls.

Depends on climatic conditions and humidity. Water when dry. Watering might be needed everyday for most people.

Is it normal for kokedama to have gnats?? I searched moss is a preferred environment for gnats so are they inevitable?
@TheUrbanNemophilist8 ай бұрын
it can happen due to moist and decaying environment. Use a gnat trap or spray from your local garden store.
