I did want to 😉👍 And I did also want to tell you that this is the smoothest low cost gear assembly for robot arms I have seen. So well done. And beautifylly presented too.

You make this all seem so easy. I've been shying away from attempting a 3D printed robot arm, but recently the urge is coming back to me and then I landed on your channel. Can't resist any longer!

And the obligatory comment.. Are you sharing your design? STL or OBJ files so we can print one for ourselves? Great project, have been following along with the cycloidal variants.. But, have you thought about ball bearing cycloidal drive?
@roTechnic

thanks, yes the design will be shared once I have finished it - it’s a a constant state of flux at the moment! maybe I should try out the ball bearing cycloid drive and do a video on it?

@@roTechnic The bike shop teached me this trick when I needed a temporary solution for when my steering head bearing broke, just put a bunch of grease around it and place induvidual balls in the grease all around the tube head and they'll stay in place until assembling back the topcap!
@roTechnic
@roTechnic 2 жыл бұрын
That's a great tip! And I'll use it next time I strip down one of my bikes (which is WAY to frequently)

In terms of algorithmic design ie. Inverse Kinematics, what are the best places to get started?
@roTechnic
@roTechnic 2 жыл бұрын
If it's for robot arms, then I'd probably start by reading some of the guides for the MoveIt project moveit.ros.org/
@aiyushg1769
@aiyushg1769 2 жыл бұрын
@@roTechnic Nice, I'll take a look at that now - it would be for robot arms. Is this what you have used / planning on using for your robot as well?
@roTechnic
@roTechnic 2 жыл бұрын
@@aiyushg1769 yep. At the moment it's just using some quick and dirty arduino code and inverse kinematics I figured out in a previous video. But when I've got the hardware done I want to get it running ROS and MoveIt.
