Video hits the mark, as did your one about jumping up on a small board. I use an 80 litre Fanatic Prowave on the Cantabrian Sea (Atlantic, northern Spain) and getting out through the surf is such a major skill. You cover all the problems and solutions. Gracias hermano......

Thanks so much! I wouldn't have figured out that technique by myself but it made all the difference for my new small board.

Sup mate, outstanding video! I'm a beginner sup surfer and had a recent stuggle to stabilize the board sideways, so lateral stability was an issue coming from a larger board. Any tips on how to better handle lateral stability on smaller boards? Does have a staggered stance help? Greetings from Brazil!

Thank you very much, from north of spain. I'm 150pounds weight and bought a 92litre board for standup surfing waves. It was imposible for me to put me feet on the board more than 10seconds. I've always used the method of putting the knees first on the board, and then the hands and after all the feet one after the other, but it was impossible.in two hours of training. Your recomendation helps me a lot, I'm gonna take it for the next time. 😅

Hola!

Are you able to use this technique to get up on a wing foil, as well??

To actually sit down on a really wide SUP board is really difficult for people with limited flexibility in the hips. But even kneeling would be better then staying on your feet for a few hours.

Hello hello I have a question maybe you can answer please? would you say it is easier to balance a board who sinks, then a limit volume surface one?, thanks and very useful tutorial.

Good video. Thanks. What are the dimensions of that sup? What dimensions for a Phantom would you recommend for someone about the same weight but for something that will NOT sink to the knees when you stop paddling? (A little sinky is ok but I’m a lot older than you. I’m a good surfer/sup surfer though and actually get compliments from good short boarders.)

Thanks for watching! This board is 7'7 x 26" at 88 liters. Send Erik a message via portalsurfdesigns.com and he'll get you dialed into the exact phantom that is right for you. You'll love the board! Come down to Blue Zone and get $500 off your custom board and all-inclusive retreat : )

@@BlueZoneSUP Very nice video! What was the wheight of the rider? For me it would be very interesting, to see different scenarios of board volume and wheight of the rider. However, I could not find any information about this topic on the internet. The only thing I could find were certain recommendations for beginner, intermediate und pro SUP surfers, but I would like to actually see, how it looks like, when e.g. an 85 kg rider stands and paddles on let's say a 90 l or 100 l board.

You don't want to be always standing and looming over nearby surfers?!. WRONG! Standing is the literal metaphor of your physical superiority over those losers bobbing around you at sea level who can't even see the waves coming before they get there. Kidding... a little bit. I'm dubious of the whole sitting premise. Why? It can be tiring to stand constantly... I get it... but who not just kneel? (Pressure dents?) I have tried sitting as you suggest here, and it's plain uncomfortable after an extended time since sups are usually wider than surf boards. And when you try to get up, your hips will curse you for it. I just kneel and, yes, it has its own disadvantages too... Your knees will curse you too, if you try to get up after an extended period, but it's easier to flex them while you're waiting. I've noticed some SUP-pers will kneel, but periodically lay face down on the board to relieve some of the knee pressure... that would be my preferred technique.
@kamilacanau5 жыл бұрын
Hi Mark, You might stop kneeling otherwise You will not train physical aptitudes as strength and flexibility need to paddle stand up on that kind of small SUP board, and obviously, you will avoid the worst disadvantage to kneel which is to not look as waiting for your man :-D

Na piscina não é local apropriado para aprender. Podendo haver acidente grave se bater cabeça borda. Melhor rio ou praia para aprender
