Scientists found the cause of fibromyalgia over a decade ago, and it’s easily treatable, but selling drugs is a big business so doctors don’t get told. I don’t own any shares in drug companies so I’m happy to tell you all about it.

Massage cripples me as a fibro person. No way can this do anything but cause me more pain. One size does not fit all. I’ve been living with fibro for fourty four years. I got enough self care info from the multiple pain clinics I’ve experienced during that time until now. The best thing I did was adopt the ketogenic lifestyle. Most of my improvements have come from changing the foods I eat. Type 2 diabetes is now controlled by diet and I no longer take medications. Hope this helps someone.

Sensitisation means that sufferers are far less tolerant to conventional massages. Also, one would need a very large number of massages to properly address the problems. Because of this we recommend vibration massage, which is far easier on your body. It can be easily self applied making it practical to have a large number of applications. Thank you, Dr. Graeme! Very interesting information! I noticed that my fibro gets so much worse with certain foods. And I’m not talking about junk food, or fatty foods, which I do not eat to make this clear. But the pain increases with many of the so called healing foods - fruits and vegetables. They are highly detoxing. So I believe that fibromyalgia also has a lot to do with the state of our gut and liver etc. and all the bugs and pathogens and bacteria that thrive inside our system. The more toxic we are, the sicker we often will feel. And fibro is just part of all the possible ailments we may get throughout the years.

There is a lot of sugar in fruit. Remember that carbs turn to sugar in the human body so it might look healthy but sugar is in a lot of so called healthy foods. Try eliminating sugar and see how you feel. My own suspicion is that sugar is the root cause of most chronic illnesses including fibromyalgia.

Was going to a chiropractor in Memphis for about year to help with my fibromyalgia, one day I was discussing it with him, he said he and most chiropractors don't believe in fibromyalgia. All that damn money I spent and insurance doesn't cover it, the maintenance never makes my fibromyalgia pain go away. I obviously never spent another day with him.

I was sent to a rheumatologist was told I had raised antibody titer. Then had more tests and bloodwork and was told it was fibromyalgia and rheumatoid arthritis. I still have a raised antibody titer and keep having to have bloodwork I’m so confused and tired of pain.
@drgraeme
@drgraeme 10 ай бұрын
The rheumatologist makes it sound confusing, but the principle as stated in the video is simple. Sensitisation can be caused by any long term pain. You've got rheumatoid causing this pain, plus likely trigger points, as practically everyone has them.

I own that massage tool, different brand. It works, but it hurts as it's breaking up the hardened facia around the muscles.. I found lots of water and green tea together w.the massage tool help to expel the lossened facia. My message therapist also told me as she massaged I would feel drainage down my throat ..and boy, .. did I. This is because the pressure from deep tissue massage drains the lymphatic system. Giving us relief. I highly recommend the massage tool.
@drgraeme
@drgraeme 11 ай бұрын
You do not own "that massage tool". You probably own a percussion massager, not a genuine vibration massager. Also, the idea of it hurting while breaking up the hardened fascia is a stupid idea sprouted by idiots who don't know what they are talking about. It shouldn't hurt and "hardened fascia" is not an issue. As well, you don't expel loosened fascia and the lymphatic system drains into a vein in your chest, not your throat. The massage therapist you have been consulting appears to have no knowledge if basic anatomy and sciences, and is feeding you a Bull-sh#t story. Watch my videos and read the articles, then do it properly and you will get good results, without paying good money to someone who does not have the knowledge and training to give proper advice.

I recently started Cymbalta for the pain associated with FMS. I have had FMS since my 30s and I am now 72 and I have dealt with huge amount of pain over those years. I finally decided I would try a chemical because the pain was absolutely crippling me, this pain went between the joint like from the elbow to the wrist, the elbow to the shoulder throughout my whole body I had not had this intensity of pain between the joints in previous years. Of course the joints still hurt, but I was able to get relief from the terrible pain, going up and down my arms and my legs and throughout my whole body, I only need 30 mg to get this relief although the dosage is 120 mg I am going to stay with the 30 and I am happy so far with the results. Something you guys might think about.

@drgraeme

Yes, while fibromyalgia sufferers have a lot of pain of which some will be from trigger points, scientists have found that sub-threshold levels of pain from trigger points can contribute to sensitisation.

Just because it is a "big massager" does not mean that it is appropriate or that you have treated any trigger point properly. For example if you use a "big" massage gun that will just stir the problem big time. Before you share any more of your enlightened revelations follow the appropriate treatment as discussed in the video linked at the finish.
