The Happy Goodmans live in Florida at a televised all night gospel sing. Howard does a little preaching and the energy in this finale song is amazing. You can hear the audience worshipping while they sing and play.

Oh how I miss them and the simplicity that was in those days. Preachers were real and churches feared the LORD!

I always thought comments like this made no sense because all of those gospel singers. Yes even back then listen to other things. Rusty Goodman sang country music and would sit in on the late night show at WSM in Nashville. Kenny Hinson‘s hero was George Jones. To say that you should only listen to gospel music is just, ignorant.

They came to our church too. I was extremely young. And I didn't get to sing with any of them lol. But as I grow old, I sure appreciate the good times we had at our church. Now a days it seems if the church isn't huge and fancy, ppl don't want to go. I'll stick with the smaller ones. Where everyone knows your name. God bless you 🙏

Oh how I love'd going to their concerts. As a kid, I wanted to sing just like her. I wondered as a child how she could hold her head up straight with all that hair. What a wonderful Christian woman I later found out that she was, and her spirit was as great as her hair.

Thanks for sharing your talents with us! GOD BLESS YOU, K. STAMBAUGH

Their Live stuff to me is something that I wish there was more of. I’m not talking about the stuff in the 90s with Bill. I’m talking about this stuff. Where is this from and is the full recording around anywhere? I would love to get my hands on like Board tapes. They only did two live albums, and one video that I’m aware of that was released, about 13 years ago and there need to be more of them put out there for the public.

Is Vestal's hair real!!
@barbaracox86138 ай бұрын
No, it was a wig.
@wandadorsey88956 ай бұрын
When I saw this group perform in the 60’s and 70’s, Vestal’s hair was real. This group had their roots in Pentecostal churches. Back then Pentecostal women did Not cut their hair, did Not wear pants and did Not wear makeup and jewellery . A woman doing these things were considered too worldly . Of course, over the years that has changed. But some people have held to these strict standards. I was raised that way, but some churches have eased up on this stuff. I feel now, that what matters is what’s in your heart, Not how you look. Blessings
@barbaracox86136 ай бұрын
@@wandadorsey8895 Vestal said in her book that it was a wig. I have seen some pictures where the hair wasn’t so tall and I figured that was hers. She had heart surgery in 1974. She said in her book that after she got over that, she just didn’t care to mess with the wig anymore. She said she could have hidden a football in it!
