I needed to hear all that. Wonderful. So easy to over analyze myself and my quality. Never thinking I'm good enough. That's a tough one to get over but this helped a lot.

Great point on mixing and mastering. I want to know how to do it well, but I'm actually going to hire it out for the most part now. I just don't want to get sick of my own song. You lay that sick melody down and 50 to 100 listens later, it's like meh, I don't care anymore lol.

I completely understand what you mean. It really is a shame when you get bored of your own music. Who are you using for mixing and mastering?

Figuring out how to profit from sinking so much in ads is the art form
@OrpheusAudioAcademy4 ай бұрын
Right, you need to understand your ROAS (return on ad spend). Definitely figure out how much it costs to acquire a customer, and then see if that customer is worth the ad spend. Things get a little trickier when your “customer” is basically streams. I might need to do another interview with Nico just to talk ads. I would personally want my main form of monetizing to be things other than streams, like physical music, merch, or a membership site. That way, you can know how much your average customer value is. Once you know that, it’s just a matter of decreasing your cost to acquire a customer, or increasing your average customer order to make sure you are turning a profit, and then at that point, you can basically just print money so long as that relationship holds steady.

Thanks, this was really interesting. I guess I'm still at square one: needing to release consistently. 😅

@@OrpheusAudioAcademy mainly family life, actually. But I'm working on streamlining my workflow a bit, at least.

@@mikaelnyblom I can definitely understand that with a pregnant wife and 4 children. Definitely takes more effort and planning to make it work.
