I do like cycling through that park. It is worth noting though, it is unlit at night so worth bearing that in mind with the dark evenings coming up

I used to live in New Cross, and have walked to Surrey Quays through the paths near The Den... I think I've never felt more scared than walking there on my own with all the 'Beware mugs' signs! Not sure I'd venture there with the bike. But lovely route!

I sometimes wonder if the signs make it worse! Especially if they keep people away. It seems mad that the police don’t just stop it from happening given it’s a well known issue

Can't help but think that a new overground station would actually be a benefit to Cycleway 10 in the long run, it would presumably come alongside a silly amount of homes also being built, and hopefully that would make this stretch of the cycleway less isolated feeling and busier with foot / bike traffic. But yeah hopefully they find a way to keep it open during construction.

Good route. Hopefully it’s safe to ride around the back of Millwall Stadium again. I used to ride that route often but stopped about almost a year ago due to reports of repeated muggings and bike thefts.

Many, many years ago I had a child seat on my bike that my son sat in, he managed to squeeze into it until he was nearly school age. He often fell asleep and I could always tell when that happened as I would feel a sudden lurch as his head flopped forward...

@@andypryor813 yes it's great! I have a Thule Yepp Maxi. when I first got it I thought it was a bit on the big side but I'm glad I have the bigger size now! I have the kind that attaches to a luggage rack rather than to the bike frame. it's really easy to take on and off and my partner and I switch it between our bikes easily, we have the same luggage rack. it's worth checking with a bike shop if your bike can handle it/which one it needs as some e.g. a lighter aluminium road bike might have trouble. also it needs to be a luggage rack rated for the right weight apparently. I have a steel frame road bike now and it works. I think anything more city/hybrid bike or whatever should be fine but I'm not an expert

However, there was a strange hazard on the bike path on Surrey Canal Road - a massive crowd of people - and this was at 07:15 on a Sunday! Turns out that there's a nightclub in the Orion Business Centre. These were people waiting for pickups so they could go home.

KZbin's compression algorithm at 1080p really struggles in scenes with a lot of detail, such as at the beginning of your route where there a lot of trees that turn into a blurry mess. I've heard that if you upscale the video and upload it as 4K, the video gets a lot less choppy because 4K has a much higher bit depth. Or something like that.

I think that’s true but this video is actually in 4K! You should be able to select the top quality - might have been your connection was slow?

I have a Thule Yepp Maxi! I have mine on a road bike but getting them on road bikes isn’t always straightforward, I’ve got the version that attaches to a rear luggage rack. I don’t know a huge amount about gear so worth asking at a bike shop if yours will be able to take one as you need quite a robust luggage rack and not all road bikes frames are really built for having a passenger. My road bike is an older steel one rather than aluminium which apparently helps

@@MartinPeterCharlie in that case you should probably be fine! Brixton Cycles sorted me out with a specific luggage rack that met the weight requirement of the seat so worth checking yours too

7:56 yes, I was just thinking the same today, cycling along here that the sign is in entirely the wrong place. It’s like sign on C14 on Rope st that was pointing entirely the wrong direction for years before they’ve now finally fixed it. I was frustrated as there didn’t seem to be anywhere to report the problem on the TfL website (I found links but they were all broken).
