@youngone1985 Жыл бұрын
@kmariamv you're right. I deleted it because it's not very relevant. The problem is that in all other groups, low value men are invisible. In black America, they are targets because black women, according to dating sites and data science, are the least desired women just as asian men are the least desired. This active marginalizing of sexually low quality black men is common. The guys making Cs and Ds got more of the chicks in high school. The guys making As and Bs accepted their lot with a different kind of woman early on. If there are exceptions, they're taken. I'm not saying that's fair, but why "target" average guys as if they owed her something by doubling down on it? The asian community strives for excellence, and the men still deal with the same lack of choice. At least black women can make adjustments. Asian men can't change their height. BUT I understand the anger she feels. The desirable men hold all the cards. Being asked to accept less after putting in so much with no guarantee and a familiar track record of failure. All i can say is that black women should keep in mind sexuality is a marketplace where young girls get high balance credit cards and boys get empty bank accounts. Those credit card limits build up from 15 to 23 and get reduced throughout her thirties until well... A man wants respect, admiration, and reverence, so success, leadership, and so on are his currencies. A woman wants attention, validation, and exhalted vanity, she her currency is beauty, youth, feminity, and so on. The currency in her account can't pay off her credit card unless the guy she desires exchanges it for her. I don't have answers.

Nope, it's about championing capitalistic value over spiritual values. Dr IV said if he has these moral values and characteristics tied to these actions, then what he does for a living is not as important as the way he will feed her soul. The point is we are getting what we are getting because we are focusing on the wrong things. It just leads to us all being more and more disposable.

It was the statements Eboni made after the Iyanla interview that have fired people up. Had she simply focused on her own PERSONAL preferences, you wouldn't have this broader class debate. But, to try to cover herself, SHE brought all off the classism, elitism into the discussion about why SHE can't get the man she wants.

In the clip Eboni didn't say she wouldn't dste a bus driver, she said she would date a bus driver who owned the bus. By occupational standards this would be an owner operator, still blue collar and still a bus driver. She didn't put down an entire group of people, she specified which of those she would date. Actually, I do have a problem with classism and elitisms. The working class is always getting shit on, unless there’s a pandemic they need us to shoulder or a war they need us to fight. There is a problem with what she said, not initially, but when she tried to make it about the state of the black community, when we ALL know that’s not what she meant. She should’ve just stayed 10 toes down instead of trying to hide behind so called black elevation.

Those types of guys are not checking for a woman approaching 40. She came off as anti-blue collar men in her response, that's why she recieved the amount of flack.

❤ Loved this interview ❣️ I liked the range pf topics they covered, the relaxed playful pace of the interview, and I liked that Eboni didnt hold back. If roles were reversed and Eboni was a black man complaining about the lack of good black women while being engaged to a white woman black women would have crucified him. BTW that white man refused to marry her also. She's a 40 year old black woman who wasted her prime years and waited too long to get serious about finding a husband and having a baby. Now instead of being accountable for her own bad life choices she wants to blame black men? The HVM she wants doesn't want her!! And just like she doesn't want to lower her standards and settle neither does he and he has a lot more options than her. Only black women believe that the average black man is beneath them? So like Kevin Samuels once said about women like her ... she can buy dog and die alone.

Your boundary? Boundary? Eboni is mad at guys she doesn't want for not BEING more than average because she couldn't lock in a guy she respects. She doubled down on the evils of being average. That's an irrelevant response for such a sophisticated journalist if it were about her "boundaries." The sexual marketplace punished her aggression. She admitted that guys on dates reminded her that she's not in a courtroom. She "was" engaged, it didn't go anywhere. Moreover, being mad at poor options is not an uppity or an older woman's problem, but it's common among black women. When 80% of black children are fathered by 15% black men, that's an options problem irrespective of class. What you MISSED is that everyone kept it about classim to play nice, avoid further damaging a damaged sista, and show support for that %85 of blac men. It's responsible damage control in a broken community in a perpetual state of emergency.
