I recall watching this as a young art student. Had a big crush on Roger Rees, lol... Thanks for posting :)

Thanks for watching. You might also enjoy 'Circle of two' on this channel which also has a very Artistic theme and is about a girl with a crush. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bmWTenSGo7h8hNE

Thank you - It has been a long time but as an old man I now much better understand and feel in sympathy with Henry - It also reminds me of some of Dr. Iain McGilchrist's conclusions on life & art.

Did you read my plea, my begging for this film? I watched it almost 40 years ago, had 3 ccpies on VHS, some disintegrated, one eaten by the antique player... Thanks for posting! Marvellous acting and much misunderstood story. Beautiful climate. Love it!

Actually I did, although I was going to post it anyway. So sad we have gained so much technology, yet lost our sense of story.
@HannaARTzink3 жыл бұрын
@@PeterWTaylor Hah, true about the technology. The story seemed subtle yet quite understandable; we watched this in the early 80ies in Canada and some of the too militant feminist friends took Mr.B's rantings too seriously and the Dragon and the Princess things got a bit lost. The movie is fun, but the economic crisis of the early 80ies, the emergence of film renting vs movie going crippled many productions, not only Ebony, but even Blade Runner, which two decades later became cult piece. I watched it yesterday and enjoyed it immensly. Oh, by the way, I've never read the Fowlers book, but you can really hear John Mortimer in the dialogues.... I think he did the script. Tks again!

@@HannaARTzink It reminds me of the old story of the king on the island, who rules for a short amount of time, until some person kills him and becomes the next king... he wants to supplant the old man

Very different ending Beautiful
@drewpanyko54247 ай бұрын
True. However, I think the ending of the film was appropriate given what the book was trying to convey. Despite the differences, I find the ending to be successnlful nonetheless. Would you agree?

Really good and thanks for posting. Known several old artists go down this road for real. Shame it left out the vomiting in toilet with the girls from the original book.

Disappointing, both script and cast, and the women are objectified beyond reason. TW is self-conscious and uncomfortable with nudity throughout, it's a perfect example of all that's wrong in the industry - shame that both female actors felt powerless to object.
@HannaARTzink10 ай бұрын
They are all actors and the played perfectly competently, even when acting discomfort. Watch this again when you are already shaving.
