Wonderful and eclectic... would have loved to see so much more of this house! Annoyed at presenter descriptive especially granny chic. Absolutely not cottage no granny...this is a ‘clever, witty and dynamic collection of interior chic’.

One thing I find really strange in a lot of these houses ... is ... the mounted animal heads, or more; half their bodies emerging from the walls. Would you put your Uncle's head on the wall? I feel that it's time that we recognize that animals deserve more thoughtfulness, more dignity than they are granted.

I don't think they were real animals, or not in this house anyway.
@andreaandrea67162 жыл бұрын
@@lizclegg7556 I know... you're right. But for me, it's the idea. Because people USED TO shoot animals and display them as trophies (!!!). So, when I see (especially the elk heads) them, even though they're NOT REAL, I'm always thrown. It's the animal detached from the rest of itself and displayed on the wall. For me it's jarring. And, I suppose .... what I find SO ODD is that this is a very popular design element. I've even seen 'floating elk's heads' as a motif on fabric! (WHY???). I just find it weird. But then... people rarely think about symbolism. People wear crosses, not realizing that this was an instrument of torture (why not wear a fish symbol? The ORIGINAL symbol for Christianity?). But thank you for replying/engaging!!

What a beautiful house from the outside and what a disappointment once they got inside.

Almost everyone in the comments is waxing lyrical over this house, which mystifies me. I find all the black (the way it's been done HERE) heavy and overdone. To me, the house feels incongruous. More of a caricature of itself. While there are bits that I like (the framed photos on the stairs look fascinating)... still, it feels confused (and confusing). More odd, is that the judges all like it.

On the outside it looks like a semi-detached castle. Really liked the big strong personality in the interior, to match the big strong personality of the house. Horrible hallway though.
