3,1,3 sequences are keys to shredding bliss. Once mastered they deliver blinding speed with very little effort. One of the most amazing players I've heard at this technique is Deryl Gable. Give him a listen, give him a listen.

Oh, yeah thats really cool. Im over here like "yeah i can already do that. Wait why arent my movements matching up?" Then i hear you describe the reverse part to loop it and my mind is blown. Love it! Im gonna use that for everything!!! Ive been practicing economy picking for years with my scales but i haven't really started using it for licks. This was a really great lesson for me to see at this point in my playing! Thanks! EDIT: Im already using it for a major lick by playing for example in D major, 5th string frets 5,7,9 then 4th string fret 7 then 3rd string frets 7,11,9,7 back to 4th string fret 7 then 5th string fret 9 back to one and repeat. I play it by rolling the two 7th fret notes with my 1st finger.

Yet another useful concept lesson. I would thank you again, but thank-yous only go so far. So I just bought a t-shirt. But thanks as well, you help a lot of people who can't afford t-shirts.

David, what's the app playing your backing track behind you, with the keyboard in the window? I'm used to seeing something like Logic Pro X behind you! -Tom

That's Transcribe! It's a great player that allows you to slow down, loop, transpose, etc. Free demo is here: bit.ly/2DCMfC7 I've been using it for years!

Is there a thing called wasteful picking? I think that's what I do naturally.
@benno62585 жыл бұрын
there's no tab for the lick. Just to clarify David , are you dropping the second last note on the way up and down to keep the picking right when looping it?

I can see your point of view, however there is a lesson to be learned in each email received. I suppose it boils down to what ya do with what is presented. But like I said, I do see what you're saying, lots of emails for sure.
