I cryed just watching this , i think about ridding again in my head all the time even stop a few horses and people heading to the beach one time just to touch and smell there horses and most people would think I'm crazy saying that but a horse person will get what I mean. I grow up from so little before getting on a bike it was a pony and from there it went into a few to pony club to me riding on trek to beach to ridding back at home. Wasn't till I got older and mum no longer living there how much i was lucky being on a farm and having a horse back then my mum bread the race horses for someone who own the cottage which we live in for years and mum use to clean there big house over a little that's what pay our rent and I walk to school which took ages every day I hated it but if got to live it again i would we were poor most people had a car we didn't but man looking back we were so lucky and that what i call now rush I my eyes. I was happy and had my horse I felt free not a worrie in world all things and problems went away didn't even think about anything just me and my horse. But now I don't have a farm and my horse that help me get throw things when I got out of hospital because I drank posion by mustake. It was soldier flux that you weld with doctors don't know how it didn't burn my throat but it did to my stomach when it happened i made it to my mum at claps she went to a car and smelt the bottle and it Burt her nose so she rang 111 i stay in hospital and had surgery there never done before on a child that's prob why it made it to the new idea magazine when was little. I thought life was hard for all the things I've had to go throw and mum drinking but i was wrong it wasn't hard back then it's hard now because I don't have it like that now. We were very poor but mum clean owner big house and bread the race horse that gave her money which payed for food and we got to sit outside at night on the tramp watch the fols get born. If I got to go back it time it would be back then we were poor but we were lucky and happy now things are way different I'm not on a farm i don't have any horse my mum is now alcoholic my mum and aren't together my brothers are far away and i feel like I'm waiting to get stomach cancer and now my life just feels broken over things happen but I've shorten it. Even tryed to get a few reads. The people say sorry there's to many tears in my family. I wish back then when living on the farm ridding how lucky back then i had it cos I would have made the most of each day being happy free and ridding I'm now 37 years old and before i die I'm going to be back on a horse and feel that all again. I've promise myself and i hold on to the one thing in life that i believe in and never stop doing and that's HOPE

Already signed up to go do the Namib Desert Ride in exactly a year. I can't wait!! A little part of me is nervous that I won't be able to keep up, but I'll train in the next 12 months, so should be all good!! Plus, I'm going to the Okavango Delta just before, that will be my warm-up hahaha.

Hey beautiful, it sounds like you've got the perfect plan in place. As you say, 12 months is ample time to get ready, but don't underestimate the speed and impact this ride has on your body. The Okavango Delta ride in Bots is the perfect pre-cursor.
