It’s called Old Mabel & I used it because it has a hint of Edward’s theme at the beginning.

I love that FR Edward model! How did you make it? I wish I could do something similar myself.

I cut off the tender of my Mickey & cut out the cab. I then filled it with milliput & calved it to shape. I then cut off the tender & replaced it with a Douglas tender. I filed the fronts of the tender into curves, glued it, painted it & it was complete. Probably my favourite custom if I’m honest & also very tedious

its Edward in his original shape. I understand he got rebuilt with a Fowler tender and a better covered cab when he went into the works some time after he had helped Gordon up the Hill or had rescued James

Sometime in the latter half of the 1910s...

The timeline for this, the way I like to place it anyhow, is scenes with Edward in his Furness livery take place in 1900. The transition to him with the no.2 shows us that he has been Purchased by Bertram (STH l) so the scene of him banking that train & showing Thomas the ropes as a pilot are set in 23 as Henry can be seen in the background in NWR Blue (even if the film is in black & white). & then after the scene at Brendam, which also takes place in the 20s, possibly 26, we then cut to the events of all of Edward’s more prominent rolls & ‘exploits’, if you will.

That’s the Wellsworth & Suddery’s former No. 2. None of the 4 engines that ran the line back in those days had names, or rather there’s little to no documentation saying otherwise.
