I just got into OSRS about a week ago after years of rs3. I’m actually enjoying myself quite a bit, and I’ve learned two things. 1)OSRS is actually a fun game if you play it ‘right’ (do quests at the start instead of trying to grind the early levs) 2) the mental age of most of the players never left 2007.

@@AmandaNavarro I've recently picked Runescape back up and I personally would say definitely go with OSRS. It's older and there is definitely large parts that will be a grind but, if you don't focus too hard on purely grinding, it is a wonderful and rewarding experience when you hit those big account milestones and see the progress you make from the early levels. I haven't played enough RS3 to really comment on it's negatives or positives but just didn't land for me. OSRS isn't easy, as there is a lot of QoL that is missing but a lot of that can be supplemented through a client like Runelite, which I would recommend. But I always find myself being pulled back into OSRS

I remember when I first started (admittedly like, April) I grinded smithing the slowest way possible to 15 to make iron gear, running from the mine in south lumbridge to the furnace and anvil they added. Who knew that iron only had a 50% chance? I felt so robbed lol

I feel like that was a right of passage for every new player. I remember this happening to me not once, but twice (when I made a new account many years later and decided to start fresh) I was like oh iron is so easy to mine so i can just power level my smithing with the bars until Mith, and then I can just make them into knives and make hella noob money and XP! Then I notice half my ores didn't smelt and I'm like "Oh yeah... now I remember why everyone just skips to Steel Bars."

I’ve known someone in game for about 2 years now names “sweetkisses22”. I randomly helped them with Dwarf Cannon when they were a few days into the game. Now they have 99 slayer and a clan of about 80 people they run.
