Thanks so much! And actually, this was all happening well before Pythagoras. Between this surveying technique in Egypt and clay tablets from Babylon, knowledge of that relationship in right triangles was well known long before Pythagoras. With active trade happening around the Middle East and the Mediterranean, ideas were always spreading. Pythagoras even supposedly studied in Egypt for a while. It just worked out that history stuck his name on the theorem. And yes, I also have my work on TikTok.

There's no question that Egyptians could construct right angles, but is there any evidence that they used 3-4-5 triangles to create them? What is that evidence, and from what century does it come from?

The triangle or 3 points have always had magical powers. 3 is an incredible number... it takes 3 points for a table or objects to stand up...think bicycle ( two tires, kick stand )...or the family is a tri. Father, mother, child....or Christianity.. the Father, the Son, the Holy Ghost.... three has magical powers... it takes 3 points minimum to survey property.....etc etc..
