Ah, another random KZbin recommendation that I didn't ask for. I usually don't watch these, but I really enjoyed your summary of the 8th generation of gaming consoles. For the record, Mattrick's comments were directly responsible for me choosing to stick with the 360 until GTA:VI and Elder Scrolls 6 launched, because I already have so many games in progress already. This generation reminds me of the 6th generation (controversial comparison I know) as PS4 is like PS2, dominating sales, Xbox One is like the original Xbox, its functions are interesting, and Wii U is like GameCube, even though it is the flop, is underrated, And of course PS Vita like Dreamcast with its functions and features ahead of its time and 3ds like Game Boy Advance because of the success of the portable, it's just my opinion, even if people hate this generation, it still has a place in my heart because is my Childhood

The intro of the ps4pro did a lot of damage to the PS5. We are still feeling it now with all the ports and remakes. Pro consoles bridge generations in a bad way.

It definitely extended the life of the ps4 along with all of the issues of actually obtaining a ps5 at launch. Still not sure how I feel about “pro” models overall

ps4 for me is a tier s console along with ps2 and xbox 360. i never thought a modern console could be on the top list for me, until ps4. i love my wii u, too. most of the big hitters on switch are wii u games, even a game alot of ppl consider the greatest game ever was also a Wii u game- zelda breath of the wild.

The ps4 is also one of my top consoles of all time now, the library and longevity is incredible especially for a piece of somewhat modern tech.

Wii U actually has many good and great games. Nintendo knew this and ported many of them on the switch.

i think the reason why xbox really flopped is because americans stopped buying their own (american) gaming console, and went to the japanese competitiver instead- playstation. we here in europe mostly never had xbox, we were playstation playstation. while americans were the reason why xbox sold that much. the japanese marked and middle east were also almost only playstation

I know at one point the Xbox 360 did decent in Japan, but Microsoft really seemed to stop caring about that market for some reason. Lots of good Japanese exclusive shmups on 360!

It feels like the eighth generation is still on top. I want a PS5 but where are the games? The only game I consider getting is the Silent Hill 2 remake but I beat that 20 years ago, I know the story 🤣 been there done that..

The Silent Hill 2 remake will blow your mind if you loved the OG. Obviously, it’s not a flashy game, but the ambience is stronger than it’s ever been.
