No one ever mentions it is a sheep’s foot blade. As a professional chef for over 30 years this is part of my cleaver/butchery set.

I have been looking at this knife for a long time but they are pretty expensive here in Canada to a point where I don't think they were selling and now they reduced the price two times so I finally bought one and it's in the mail. It's been over one year since I bought a knife and this is going to make up for all lost time.

That's a super cool knife and I love the design of it. It sure made short work of that 4x4, though. 👍Thanks for sharing, take care and Cheers!

Yea, I have an El Chete and after using a Junglas for years, I too was surprised how short the handle is. With that being said, if I need to chop something and didn't have an axe, the El Chete definitely gets the job done!

I recently came to the conclusion that my dedicated choppers are just toys. My elchete for example can't really do anything that another tool can't do better. That wouldn't be a problem except that it literally can't do anything else, at all because it doesn't have a tip? Slicing? Maybe. Feathersticks? Sure, but anything with an edge will do that, and probably easier... Elchete is a fun piece of steel... Maybe that's its other specialty, having fun.

I owned one. I loved everything about it except that sharp finger hump point. It really hurt my hand. If I had a garage and the tools to do so, i would've grinded it down and kept it. However, I don't have those things, so I ended up selling it. I really want to try out a Storm Vector, though. Looks like a great chopper with a more comfortable handle.
@Mr_Obvious11 ай бұрын
I almost bought one of these, but I ended up grabbing the TOPS Storm Vector instead because it had more of the cool factor. I'd like to see a chop off between the two to see which one actually chops better. That would be interesting.
@peterbiltknifeguy11 ай бұрын
Heck yeah
@Mr_Obvious11 ай бұрын
@@peterbiltknifeguy The Storm Vector bites deep but it's kind of like the Junglas. A full flat grind it bites deep but tends to get stuck in the wood so you have to yank it a bit to pull it loose, at least on the first few chops until you get a good v wedged out.

@@peterbiltknifeguy I’ve had 2 tops knives both had horrible grinds. I really don’t see anything useful about the el Chete. It got a weird handle and a useless design. It’s nothing more then a gimmick. At least the esee is useful what other then making a video would you use the chete for? I’m not trying to be a dick I’m just dumb founded by how many KZbin show the same knives. Some I understand (might not agree with but I understand) this knife is really what all the clowns used to call coldsteel knives. The big difference was coldsteel knives were made for a purpose usually more then one. This knife I don’t get who would even carry it and what for? You know what I mean. I guess my thought process is different before I buy a knife I like it to be useful for more then one thing. I’m not a collector I just have a bunch of tools.
@peterbiltknifeguy11 ай бұрын
@@richardhenry1969 this knife is made for one purpose only. Chopping. The reason I love large chopping knives is because I have 40 acres of wooded land. So far I haven’t found a big enough chopping knife that’s up to the task. Even my esee Junglas struggles. I have tried machetes. But they are only good for the soft stuff where it is. So I’m on a journey to find the ultimate chopper. For my real life. Believe it or not. KZbin is a very VERY small part of my life.
