Great review as usual, brother. I picked up one from Tops site last year. Is it worth 300 bucks? Some people will balk, others not so much. I look at it like my FILBE pack: expensive, heavy, but absolutely bullet proof. It took some time to get used to it because when you get it, unlike most machetes, it is RAZOR sharp. It bites so deep that it's easy to get stuck until you get the get the feel of it. It excels in chopping 1 to 1 1/2" limbs with one stroke for a quick fire. It's not for everybody, but as you always preach, get the equipment that works for YOU. This works for me. Always enjoy your vids. Your BOB videos really helped me evaluate my gear I was using and I made some changes due to the insights I got from you. Thank you and thank you for your service even more.

You convinced me to get one. I have looked at this knife for quite a few years always been hesitant to buy one due to the expense. But now they're on sale here in Canada so I decided to order one.

The wood he is splitting looks like alder to me, but im from the northwest and have never been in the Adirondacks. Alder is very easy to split and makes pretty good firewood.

Try using it as a draw knife to process lumber.

A knife is a knife. A knife is never a splitter, it is a second or third option in that scenario . At best this is a large cleaver.

I've never found any of these big expensive choppers can hold a candle to the 10 or $20 machetes that farm workers use 8 hours a day every day for years on end.

I think it depends on where you are at, and what you are doing with it. Have you ever split wood with a $10-$20 machete? Have you ever chopped through a 6" dia. Tree with one of those machetes?

@@batsquatch1987 haven't split wood but I have cut down a tree that was well over 6 in and it didn't take long those thin blades cut so deep it's ridiculous
