I’ve always said that Elden Ring feels like it was designed to have 3-5 crabs so the but at all times. Feels like they took that feature out last minute.

I do agree that the ending is a bit anti-climactic but its not the end for Elden Ring. the dlc takes place before the end of the base game, so nothing can happen at the end of the dlc that would change the main story
