The Elder Scrolls Lore: Azura

Azura is the Daedric Prince of Twilight, Dawn, and Dusk. She is one of the few Deadric Princes who are considered "good" by mortal standards. However she is primarily worshipped by the Dunmer of Morrowind and the Khajiit of Elsweyr. In this video I talk about her ideals, worshippers, artifacts, as well as her plane of Oblivion, Moonshadow.

Well they are just doing what they do. Don’t want to go all philosophical but, the dunmer seem to realize this. I enjoyed seeing their perspective on it. I’ve learned to respect them. With the exception of Molag Bal. fuck that guy lol! Honestly though, he’s one of my favorites

@Hoàng Nguyên Well, to the Dunmer, Boethiah / Mephala are not gods of betrayal and murder, but deities related to overcoming hardship (and progressing down the road of the Psijic Endeavour). They NEEDED the Good Daedra in order to survive in a harsh wasteland, where they were surrounded by enemies on all sides (Orcs, Dwemer, Nords, etc.). Boethiah actually told the Velothi NOT to be treacherous among their own kind. Basically, Boethiah is their god of battle - the whole "plots and schemes and betrayal" angle is an Imperial oversimplification. Mephala is related to stealth (guerrilla warfare, ambushes, etc.). Not evil, just very useful.

Basically, all this comes from a series of games and isn't actually real.

Love Azura, the fact that she lets an entire race stew for ages after defying her only to finally send her champion to save them while cutting the tribunals power out from under them, and STILL have them love her is completely badass. The biggest lesson Morrowind had to offer was don't fuck with Azura.

The Nerevarine was reborn time after time only to be cut down and persecuted by the Tribunal. Azura tried to intercede from the start but was opposed, only when the Tribunal had weakened enough Nerevar succeeded. In her speech to the Tribunal after their crime she stated that the Dunmer would be ruined by their hands, not hers. We can see this in their persecution of the Nerevarine and their brilliant idea of keeping a giant rock stopped in time to blackmail the Dunmer. They did all these things themselves and Azura tried to stop them from the start to the end, she also warned the Dunmer of the Red Year but the people still believed in the Tribunal and everyone ignored her aside from her followers.

The one part of religion I never here in the fictional soap opera of ES||| is the concept of repentance, right? I think it's possible the three tribunal traitors never knew a chimer word for "forgive". They knew they were guilty, and each showed it in their way. They can't even really be mad at azura because they know she is right, she saw it all happen & the only eye witness that they have to hide from. ....oh besides dagoth ur who probably wasn't a bad guy before getting ambushed and irradiated over psychic lava.

The fundamental philosophies of the Dunmer include improving one's self by experiencing and overcoming hardships. Reincarnation gifts them another chance to improve, until they learn one of the paths of Chim. More than anything, they turned their backs on her when the Tribunal brought about a renniacaunce for their people, and she had the pretending gods thrown down. They'll come back, assuming Bethesda doesn't keep screwing up their games...

I always and still to this day believe that dagoth stayed true to his word and guarded lokrams heart until nerevar returned, when he found out the other 3 poisoned him he became wrought with anger and grief, thus azura cursing all dunmer with dark skin and red eyes. Praise sixth house
