Hi everyone! Thank you all for your patience, a long video takes a bit to make, which is why I've been absent a bit, otherwise please enjoy this video! I apologize if it seems too long a video, unfortunately magic is a subject that covers a wide variety of information. :D Also a nice little funfact: The Image I drew and created at 46:50 is a ShadowGate from ShadowKey, I couldn't find any HD official art for it, so I decided to draw it. The way I created the warping red background in the door is taking a screenshot of the interior of my current Minecraft base and warping it to Oblivion in GIMP. Voila, you have yourself a wonderful ShadowGate!~

This is what I love about the Elder Scrolls: I had no idea there was THIS much lore on magic and I almost always play mages. Magic is my favorite thing in fantasy period and the Elder Scrolls has been a massive inspiration for my own fantasy worlds. Then I started playing with some immersive, lore friendly mods, expanding on the magic available and now I can never play a pure melee or stealth character again. I am a mage for life and proud of it.

I know this video is pretty old, but I thought I'd just note here that it's not a mystery why Magnus abandoned the project of Mundus. Mundus was a trap orchestrated by Lorkhan. When Magnus figured this out he immediately fled the trap and his followers, trusting his judgment, fled with him. But the Aedra were already too well stuck into the fabric of Mundus. Edit: the Ayleads didn't invent Alteration to fight them, it was a consequence of how they viewed and practiced magic, which was (to summarize) that all there was only one school of magic, and it granted control over all existence if the caster is skilled enough.

@Dacod Leslie Such blind jingoism and appalling servility; you are widely misinformed. The Thalmor are nothing short of genocidal maniacs. You Altmer from The Isles, condemn Man for just being. I suspect your Thalmor is a secret cult of survived Ayleids who utilized the political strife oh the Sommerset Isles to radically seize your elitist culture and propel it into the realm of pure evil. Talos worship is not only valid, and celebrated throughout the Empire and provinces of men alike, but entirely obligatory. Isn’t it clear that we Imperials are the ultimate chosen ones, blessed with the full grace of the NINE Divine? It seems to me your peoples’ immense, misplaced hatred of us stems partly from mere, pitiful jealousy. One of the biggest blunders of the Alessian Empire is they never finished their task of completely eliminating the Ayleid demons from the world of Nirn. If you were a true historian of Tamriel, and not a propaganda-spouting scamp, you’d know that all of the biggest crimes and injustices committed on the free and Aedra-blessed peoples of Tamriel, particularly Cyrodiil, were enacted by none other than Altmer blasphemers.

It's always amazes how meany people on youtube criticise the game for not being a real RPG (not saying you do) but don't don't read the books in the game which are the best part of the game. This game series has the best lore in a video game role playing full stop and the lore only gets better with each game.

Though, I feel it important to say, Thaumaturgy, in TES goes back to the Daggerfall, and the 1990's while d&d started this type of spell only 6 years ago. Thaumaturgy, in both cases, are based off of basic expressions of power, and or miracles as depicted in the bible, or similar real world inspirational texts. This is why 5e puts it as an almost exclusive Divine cantrip. Thaumaturgy's etymology is from Greek meaning Miracle worker, or Miraculous Power. Once again, please keep making this kind of content!
