Personally, if you are a new player, I wouldn't even worry about housing until you hit max level. Quite frankly there are much more useful and important way to spend your gold while leveling. Housing really adds no advantages game play wise. Houses and furniture are really just money sinks so max level players have something to spend the tons of gold they accumulate. That's not to say they are not nice status symbols and fun to work on and furnish, but they are no something you need to worry about early in the game.

@Jordan That's what I did last time I re-uped my eso+ subscription, I paid a year up front so I got something like 19,000 crowns (not sure if that was a special deal or they always offer that). I purchased the Daggerfall Manor House for ~12,000 crowns, it's like 3 Million gold if you buy it outright. They offer a furnished version for more (something like 14,500 crowns), but in my opinion half the fun is furnishing the house the way you want it. I'm an existing player though so really had no need for any of the other things the store offers like XP boost scrolls, profession training boosts, riding books. If you are a new player, some of those might be a better option, then again leveling goes so fast these days and you can get plenty of XP scrolls by other means (leveling rewards etc), that the house would probably be the way to go, since everything else on the store like mounts, pets and costumes are just cosmetic anyway.

I haven’t played ESO in 2-3 years, but I was paying for plus. I logged back in with 90,000 crowns 😅😂. I bought all the dlc, but I wanted to know what houses were all about. Wasn’t a thing when I played. Thanks for the info brother. Great video.

Just got into housing this weekend. Dropped a bunch of crowns on Earthtear Cavern and a bunch of gold on items to furnish it with. I like having a lot of detail, so I used a lot of items. I'm not even close to being done with the main chamber of the cavern and I get a message that I've maxed out my item count. This is devastating because this ruins the creative process.

So far my favorite house in ESO is the Alinor Crest Townhouse. Then again I have a strong bias towards Elves. In particular the Aldmer, Altmer, Ayleid, and Falmer/Snow Elves.

Pretty sure you can duplicate the chests and banker and merchant...since you can only have a limited number of them. Just beware that the smallest homes (rooms) only allow a small number of them.

My big issue with this (and it's an ESO issue, not Adam😀) is 'sound'. The game takes all sounds in an owned space(apt - manor) as being done 'right beside' the player, not a problem in a one-bedroom apt but rather problematic and annoying when you are in a manor home with lots of people inside. For example, I take someone into another room for a private conversation at a guild party (I'm a roleplayer). But even if they are on the other side of the manor, several rooms away and through several closed doors, they can hear everything that I do or say (and vice-versa), annoying and distracting on all sides, a cacophony of sound. Of course, we could do private tells, but it still breaks the immersion that we still get every little thing from every other part of the manor? A simple filter with two variables (distance, people in the spaces) would go a long way in solving this problem. Or maybe that already exists, and I just haven't found it yet? And yes, I know this is a fairly minor in the larger picture, but it's still something that impacts play on a fairly regular basis.

How do you purchase a furnished house and if you buy one unfurnished, can you later buy the furnished option?

So furnished houses I believe you do through the crown store. If you unfurnish it I don’t think you can go back and purchase furnishings. You can buy furnishing packs but it won’t furnish it for you

I keep trying different vids and tutorials, but I cannot find any way to purchase housing with gold. It's only crowns, am I doing something wrong? Is it limited to certain houses? I got gold tospend, no crowns.

Yep, preview the house and go into purchase options, there's an option to preview furnished for crowns, you click on that and a drop down menu shows preview unfurnished as an option and shows the gold cost. Click preview and have the gold in your player inventory and buy the house.
