During one playthrough as an Argonian warrior, I ended up marrying Lydia, but not before Farkas wanted to get with my character. I rejected him, which I felt a little bad about... Then, when the wedding came along, he was attending it. I know this was due to sheer luck, but I felt really bad after that.

Once you become Harbinger, you no longer have to do any quests. You can choose to continue, though, and eventually get a quest to cure Vilkas and/or Farkas of their Werewolfism, but that is completely optional.

Notice that when you marry Vilkas, Farkas shows up to the ceremony to be supportive. But if you marry Farkas, Vilkas is nowhere in sight! Probably off sulking :P

1. Complete the Companions' quest line. 2. Speak to Maramal in Riften about marriage. 3. Either buy an Amulet of Mara from him or just equip one you've found already. 4. Talk to Farkas. He should have unique dialog regarding marriage. Agree to the marriage. 5. Show up in the Temple of Mara in Riften the next day at around 6 am to take your vows.

@Impignorate That's a known bug. Your spouse will walk out in the middle of the ceremony, never to be seen again. Thankfully with Companions you have an option, though: find him back at Jorrvaskr and start a dialog with him. He'll ask you where you want to live. Staying with him == he stays at Jorrvaskr. You can choose one of your homes instead if you want to live there, though (which is adorable because he will cook you dinner).

Should be in Jorrvaskr if you didn't talk to him afterwards to decide where to live. When you find him there (eventually), you can then initiate the dialog to choose your place of residence.

@dianaraz75 He will die if you accidentally strike him with your attacks. If he gets beat down, he'll hit his knee and enemies should avoid him and come after you. When he's knocked down, get enemies away from him and he will eventually recover. But YOU can kill him outright by hitting him with spells or blades.

@Pyschophobia Any Amulet of Mara will do, but you're going to have to talk to Maramol in Riften in the Shrine of Mara before you can marry pretty much anybody. Sometimes you need to do a radiant quest or two before marrying him.

Thanks for mentioning that! I plan to marry him when I make a character on PC, and I'd planned to do his Purity quest first anyway but now I know I HAVE to if I want to do it. Gotta be careful not to get married too soon. I'll make sure I do Vilkas', too, in case making him a steward in one of the Hearthfire homes causes that problem, too. Hoping Hearthfire will be on PC by the time the roommate finishes upgrading his PC.

Probably back to Jorvasskr. You'll have to initiate a dialog with him to determine where you want him to live (your home or at Jorvasskr itself).

@tjdudangel Have you finished the Companions quest? If so, you could see if he's at Ysgramor, if he's not at Jorrvaskr or any of your houses. If you're on PC, you could also download the divorce mod, divorce him, wait until he shows again & remarry him. Otherwise perhaps try again from an earlier save? You really have to be quick to grab him as soon as he starts walking away at the wedding. Hope you find him! :)

if you play Skyrim on Xbox 360 and you want to marry Farkas listen up the way I was able to marry him was when I became leader of the companions. And to become leader you have to ask Kodak what he needs and he will want u to find a cure once u do that you go back to the companions and kodlak is dead. the u get vengeance and go to another place (they will tell you) and finish that mission (the mission is to try and cure kodlak from the beast transformation) and then he says ur the leader and then you go to Farkas and marry him! it's that simple! that's how I got to marry him on Xbox 360 PS u can marry vilkas that way too!

Have since noticed some things, so wanted to clarify. If Farkas is your Follower, you won't get the "Looking for work" option. However, if you part ways with him, he then gets that option back in the Talk options. So I was incorrect in my original post. I didn't realize it because I didn't part ways with him for about 20 levels. Having your spouse be your Follower results in some buggy behavior. About three days post-marriage Farkie stopped offering his home-cooked meal. I miss my Farkie food.
