It was cute how Timisa paused and let Khanysia get in front of her. Can somebody reach the fruit for the elephants? It’s nice to know some of the elephants like a special treat of the Green Thorn Tree Fruit … I want them to get as much as they want. They act like they really love that fruit. Fishan is such a sweet gentleman. It’s lovely how they can push over a tree, yet be so gentle and just take off one leaf. Elephants are truly special, wonderful animals. Thank you Owen, Lundi really loves that fruit.

I am still just so amazed at how Fishan keeps up on these long hot walks. He is a trooper for sure. Who would have thought that he could have done so well after breaking a leg and considering his size. It is indeed because of all the excellent care he received by you ALL. I love this herd!💕 But to be fair, I don't think there are any elephants I don't like. Ellies are just the best! They know what they like and don't play games about it. They just go for it. As most of them were orphans and hand-raised by people, the elephants are very comfortable with humans - this is why we need to ensure they're protected. But they do have incredibly special relationships with their carers. 💚

Fishan looked so comfortable walking. His upper leg still drains, so I am assuming he still lies down on that side? He and Timisa are really pals as well as Pisa with Timisa. That time khanysia was nagging on Timisa, and Limpopo, Tokwe and Fishan came to the rescue...one of them trumpeted, and I bet it was Fishan. He knew Timisa needed some adults to stop the nagging. I love Fishan. He is so beautiful and brave and strong. He's the man.

Well from what I've gathered, the Doc does come to visit, and checks on everyone then. But not on a regular basis. So the Carers or Adine who sees them daily watch out for any problems. Then if something via not quite right they'll get the vet to see them.

Wow I just had a spiritual apiphany. When we got a close up of the trunk and the eyes of the ellies I realised these mammals have been roaming the earth for ever and its important that we make sure they continue to do so.

African elephants and Asian elephants differ in some ways. Has there been any births of baby calf that are part Asian and part African elephant, if so was the calf healthy and what did it look like? They are so beautiful!
