I've done a lot of work with young people with mental illnesses, and the one thing I always try to impress upon them is that a diagnosis is an explanation, not an excuse. You can say "I did X because my brain works this way because of Y" and yes, maybe you did, but ultimately you are still responsible for your own actions and behavior. If you are in a place where you aren't coping, you remove yourself from that situation if possible. No one is holding them captive in a Tik-Tok live. Turn off the phone and take care of shit.

I have been fobbed off and sent home just to end up back there in resus peri-arrest half hour later Not trying to defend Elphaba but I do believe the mental health services are that shit I was recently on a section 2 on 3:1 observation, had a peri-arrest call put out the night before but was still taken of the 2 the next day bc no psych beds available Elphaba needs help but I don’t think she wants it. She’s just not a great person and I think lives for the drama

I can empathize. I was diagnosed with GAD back in 2008 with a focus on social anxiety. I would break out in hives if I was put on the spot in any social setting and I spent most of my time at home. It’s gotten better for me over time, even if it rears its head every once in a while. It is upsetting to see people use these mental health issues as ‘quirks’ for internet fame and money, especially to minors. she needs to be deplatformed for her health and that of others. I fully tried to unalive myself and came close to succeeding and was sent home from hospital and had to beg for the next two weeks to be admitted to a psych ward! Another time I tried and was taken into A&E by police and the nurses asked them to arrest me so that the police doctor could see me because they didn’t want to the police refused and sat with me until 3am when somebody finally came to see me so honestly it’s not that much of a stretch that she could have just been sent home after threatening to harm herself

I got thrown a leaflet saying if you think are jilling, call this number and I presented at the hospital with serious mental health issue. My friend was took in by the police and was let out after a day or so with a leaflet and some tablets and basically left by the mental health team, they ended up discharging her after a few weeks when she kept calling for help, so it does happen in some parts of the UK has the NHS and mental health is serious unfunded. She needs to switch of her phone, delete tiktok and find some new hobbies. She needs to realise her actions have consequences. I'm quite suprised that shes still allowed on there tbh 🤣😅

This one is helping me get through some nasty gallbladder pain. I'm a very poorly person both mentally and physically with things like depression, anxiety, autism, bi polar, sciatica, fibromyalgia and more. The mental health department in the hospitals in essex have thrown tablets at me and LITERALLY told me I need to make friends and go outside. Like I'm autistic, nobody wants to be my fucking friend lmao. Also, I'm gonna mention something much more sensitive, if that's okay. *trigger warning: SH* Hearing that she threatened to SH on live has me so angry I'm nauseous. My arms, under wrists, thighs, calves and stomach are *covered* in very deep scars. Back in 2003 I even did my face in the lowest I've ever been. The doctors didn't care, the hospital left me bl**ding for so long I was shivering and freezing. I was forgotten in a room for over 6 hours before getting my stitches, and most had to have glue because there were too many too close together to stitch. There are thousands of people like me who suffer in silence and never get the help we ask for, and elphaba is over here fucking weaponising SH. It makes me sick. I had a feeling you suffered with depression. It's all in the eyes.. I see a lot of sadness in your eyes, maybe even deep numbness sometimes. Do you suffer with insomnia by any chance? The police tried to get me sectioned and at the hospital the form they filled in to see if you have enough "points" to be sectioned, well if you've a brain cell you know how to answer to not get sectioned. I was out on hormones for a reproductive health issue and I had to go off and do surgery because the added hormones to my already pre existing made hormones literally made me crazy. I cried non-stop for days at nothing and felt so emotionally unstable I refused to keep taking them until I finally had surgery to put it into remission. I say this because the fact she said hormones will be administered when they potentially are not needed WILL make her go off the rails worse than she does in her normal days not on added hormones. I see this online with trans women and the hormonal and emotional instability that they start to become aggressive. This is the first time I’m seeing this person but I am genuinely worried for her with what she is saying.

I’m gobsmacked they haven’t been sectioned. I’ve been in multiple mental health hospitals (I’ve gone voluntarily) but I’ve met and become friends with other patients who have been sectioned for less. I could never make videos because every negative comment would affect me so much. She needs help and part of that is staying off social media. However she is right that the resources aren’t there in the NHS for mental health. I’m a SA survivor and in March things got too much for me. After waking up 4 days later in hospital after my worst incident ever and no memory of what had happened I fully expected to not be given the option of going into a mental health hospital voluntarily because I’d be sectioned. No one even brought it up. So once I was physically better I was just discharged. Luckily I had my parents to go and stay with for a few weeks (I’m 31) there are certain diagnoses that hospitalisations won’t help. TikTok also needs to take some accountability.

As someone who has a cousin who does awful shit during manic episodes and refuses to take any accountability, im rolling my eyes so hard theyre in space now. Yes manic episodes can be near impossible to control, but they are not an excuse. You can admit that you were manic and that its hard to control yourself during them, but you still have to take accountability for your actions during those episodes. You still did those things. Those things wers still wrong. And as Baz said, she absolutely provoked and invited the situation by inviting people to come at her knowing what was going to happen. I firmly stand by the fact that mental illness can be a reason, but not an excuse.

I hate to agree with Elphaba but the nhs don’t care I was 12 when I first attempted to take my life with a near fatal overdose and they sent me home without even a referral to Camhs, I attempted another 8 times in the years following the most recent being 2022 and I eventually got referred to Camhs in 2015 aged 16 but by then it was too late and I have a a list of very sever and treatment resistant mental illnesses including bpd cptsd psychosis major depressive disorder and a sever dissociative disorder, all because they looked at 12 year old me almost dead and decided I was safe to go home, now to even sleep I have to take many different types of meds ans they have to be changed regularly because after a few months they don’t work, and I’m turn because of that my liver is dying and the NHS still don’t care.

She may not be lying about the hospital. not saying any of this is okay, I've got mental health issues, and have been to the hospital about 6 times for episodes/attacks. yes, being in the same state she's claiming she's feeling, and the hospital only admitted me for longer term care when I literally begged. One point I was turned away because there was no more beds available. So they gave me an anti-anxiety and said to come back if it got worse again. While I am Canadian, we have a LOT of similar issues regarding our health systems

Nah I won’t lie I see a lot of people say how hard it is to find counselling but I’ll be honest when I lived mainland in Sheffield I literally looked up legit counsellors and could book in the next day. I don’t think it’s too difficult to get counselling now (paid private obvs, nhs whole different thing)

12:30 actually that’s what happens alot. I was in a severely bad place and my mum took me to hospital. Begged them to help me got given a diazepam and got told to come back if I needed another (6:7 hour wait). What I don't understand is why the generation that created cancel culture doesn't know how to cancel someone they don't like. When I don't like someone I refuse to watch their socials, I will not comment, I won't subscribe, I won't follow them.
