i love the parting words: IF you follow all these tips, you SHOULD get a reliable clock. i can attest that you can follow all these tips and more and still get a clock that's super picky despite your best efforts ;-) i have a clock on my wall right now i've been doing the yo-yo- dance with for months. it ticks for a week, then stops. i take it apart, i put it back together, it ticks for another week, then stops. pendulum bob up, pendulum bob down.. up, down, too fast, too slow, or not ticking at all. i have been at it like this since May (it's septemeber 2015 now) and all these excursions into "fun" have caused me to do is research balance-type escapements. i want to completely do away with pendulum based clocks.

Wow, that's incredible how well it rolled by just blowing on it. I'm pretty sure friction will be my problem...

There is nothing worse than spending hours making a clock that refuses to run, and it is often something simple but not always obvious, these are the things I always look out for. But never forget the 3 major reasons for a clock not running. 1.Friction 2.Friction 3.Friction

I bought one of your clocks, and I'm waiting for it to come in. I'm new at this but NO has never been in my vocabulary, so I have no doubt that I will eventually be successful in this.. These videos, especially this one, is amazing and helpful. However, I have a question. That violin maker's tool, I couldn't completely understand what it was called even after attempts at replaying it. Can you please give a source or a name of the tool for that?
