Great film, nicely paced and well put together. One small criticism - it would be good to hear the bikes a bit more to get an idea of how they’re being ridden. Apart from that, 👌.

What a nice guy Matt is, was literally here on Saturday for a beginners day with my dad, we’ve got the bug now and are considering buying a bike to go pay and play. Nice to hear the Story of how Matt made it on his own and started his business from nothing. Definitely will be back to Inch Perfect and would recommend a day there to anyone.

Couldn't agree more. I bought my first bike from inch perfect around 7 or 8 years ago and matt and his team were extremely helpful and honest. Those EM bikes have improved since this video but the story of both rider and machines evolution are a great watch. Once this gasgas stops working I will 100% go back to inch perfect for another bike.

Really pleased to get the IP back story. I'm a big fan of the place and wish I'd come along years ago when I first found you on Ebay and had you in my watch list for ages. I've done an experience day, bought a bike from you, and I now come up once a fortnight for a pay and play. Having all that facility to ride on is a luxury I could only have dreamt of years ago when I was ruining the lawn and breaking the patio steps with my own TY175. Getting an EM has allowed me to get back in to riding much quicker than a petrol bike (for me personally). Really excited to see how you get on in Scotland. Good luck (especially with the weather!).

Matt, thanks for such a great video. I am now 61 and haven't ridden a trials bike since I was 19, when I bought one of the first Fantic 200s. I was in the Army and we serviced riders in the SSDT, 1980, the year Yrjo Vesterinen won. Such great memories of such an awesome event. Keep well Doug

Excellent video, well done InchPerfect. One of the best Trials related videos made. I've owned an EM, but have gone back to an aspirated model. I'm now wondering if I should try the 2023 model. I'm reminded of the ease the EM went up Rocky gullies. I did struggle for grip on the mud though, maybe I didn't give it enough time to adapt. Looks like a trip to InchPerfect is on the cards for a text ride. 👍👍

I'm thinking about trying to get into trials, loved watching it since I was a kid but never had a trials bike, should I start on an em? I like the idea of how easy they are for maintenance
@paulstewardson3288 Жыл бұрын
Joseph Start by going to your local trials. Join in by observing, and chatting to riders and organisers. Have you gone on an experience day, like InchPerfect? From experience, new bikes are expensive, and the can depreciate up to and over £2000 within a year. All trials bikes need maintenance. If you don't clean them and do maintenance, they will let you down and depreciate even quicker. Even EM bikes need chains oiling, linkages, head bearings greasing and oil changes to the motors. If you're new to off road/ trials, start with an old bike, that you don't mind falling off. If you don't take to trials, then you've not lost a fortune. A Beta 200 or 250 are brilliant bikes for a starter. They are forgiving, and good ones can be picked up , in good condition and at reasonable prices.

Super cool, typical weather for the Scottish. Really interested in trying one of these when I can, current ride is a beta 4T factory. I've done the Scottish twice, top 20 finisher, I'm old and bloody grey now but if I could I'd ride an EM it would be a hoot. Cheers I agree with the guy that rides a 4RT, the reason I ride a 4T is the noise !!!

Very impressive, well done. Did you need to change batteries at every fuel stop ?

Thanks Alan, there was certainly some fuel stops where the battery % was still very high, but not worth running the risk of not changing it, when the facility is there.

@InchPerfectTrialsIPT Жыл бұрын
Thanks Adrian, glad you enjoyed the documentary. To be honest the bike preparation was all standard stuff; greasing linkage, nut & bolt check etc battery strategy was just regen where possible, steady pace, and swap at the army fuel stops. It was a great adventure. Thank you

@@InchPerfectTrialsIPT Wow, thought you might have tweaked the gearing for the road sections for example. Loving my 2020, apart from a speed controller all I've done in 2 years ownership is the same stuff. They're bulletproof 😁
@InchPerfectTrialsIPT Жыл бұрын
Hi Adrian, thanks glad you enjoying your bike. The boys ran 2 tooth bigger on the rear sprocket, so slightly lower gearing, more for the sections. It actually doesn’t make hardly any difference top speed and they were fast enough for the road standard.

How many batteries would you need to get through a day?

At the Scottish Six Day Trial there is an average of 5 fuel stops a day. Every time the petrol bikes filled up with fuel, the boys changed their battery.

You start the day with a full battery too, so a bit less than that. It depends on so many factors/terrain. If you was considering getting an EM Epure Race , and wanted a bit more in-depth info, please give us a call. Thanks

@@InchPerfectTrialsIPT @Inch Perfect Trials Yes would like to try one, but more interested in a lite weight trials bike, which is what I wanted 20 years ago when competed in trials & mountain bikes, that has not changed other than now I am to old to have any real skill? I am going to build one, but do you think that would be some thing that I could get help to develop ? I know there could be a market for it, as battery tech gets better! Will get in touch when have something finished!
