1:27 It's amazing to me how they manage to give the illusion of the sheer mass of that miniature with like the speed at which it falls and the impact. That's a lost art, right there.
@edd48163 жыл бұрын
Physical models definitely have the edge over even the best cgi in this way. I'd hazard a guess that they filmed the miniature falling with a high frame rate, then slowed it down when playing it back to create that impression of size and mass

@richardched60855 жыл бұрын
Whatever shield System the AT-AT had that made it immune to Blasters was rendered useless or was disabled when the Walker tipped over. The crash probably cracked the neck open enabling a well placed Blaster volley to enter the Walker itself and detonate close enough to it's Fusion Reactor causing such a large explosion. Luke did a similar thing by throwing a Grenade into the Troop bay which did enough damage to completely obliterate the head of the Walker but not enough to do the same to the main chassis. And Lightsabers can cut through pretty much anything so....
@ammovies98014 жыл бұрын
The neck is the weak point, atleats that's what wikipedia says
@k-8744 жыл бұрын
They aim for the neck which is the almost no armor part of the AT-AT, the reason no other AT-AT blows up by getting shot in the neck is because the pilots always cover the neck by facing the heavily armored head to the direction of the Airspeeder shooting the neck since it has enough range to completely cover the neck, so when the AT-AT are immobilized and completely disabled, the neck is fully exposed and they have no way of covering it using the head so, free kill...
@wilhufftarkin85434 жыл бұрын
My theory is that it's not the cannons that made the AT-AT blow up but its reactor.

You have to remember how truely massive Stardestroyers are in the Star Wars universe. Even those things beeing 30m tall are tiny dots inside an empire Stardestroyer. Considering how they land and lift, that was never explained in the official movies. But it's easy to imagine having booster rockets attached or small landing vehicles just for the job. In episode 1-3 we see transporters that unpack and unload hundreds or thousands of human side droids each. It is not far fetched to imagine something similar for ATATs. These legs also look like they could be folded, making the transport even easier.
