This war was watched with extreme interest by the Soviets. Case in point, in 1982 the Cold War was still a big thing. Britain was a senior member of NATO and, as such, a transgression like this simply could not be allowed to fly. Oh and yep, the islanders rights as British citizens (and/or Dependent Territories citizens) were violated without any sort of provocation what so ever. Furthermore, due to the uniqueness of the conflict as pretty much the only thing of its kind since WW2 (and now, in all honesty) it has been extensively studied and disseminated in military academies the world over.

The Argentinan army may have lacked experience, but their air force didn't . Atlantic Conveyer HMS Sheffield HMS Coventry RFA Sir Galahad Just a few of the British ships sunk and destroyed by the Argentinan Air Forces. No military campaign runs smoothly .Mistakes are made, and service personnel ultimately make that sacrifice. Whether or not the Falklands campaign was justified to put together a liberation force a sail 8,000 miles fight a campaign and win was an incredible feat .
