It was a great battle! There are so many great scenes that I can't continue watching them! That's how much you paid attention to the angle! what confuses me the most is why GW didn't give the Empire a name, like Sigmarian Empire for example, but simply "The Empire"? Keep in mind that this isn't the only "The Empire" in Warhammer Fantasy. We have Grand Cathay, Nehekhara (the predecessor to the Tomb Kings), Reman (the predecessor to Tilea and Estalia) and many more empires. So it would be odd to have a country called simply "The Empire", right?

They did as the Empire is often called "Sigmar's Empire" in the Novels and Campaign Books, Its just that Armybooks are purposely written as a propaganda and being called the Empire of Man is somewhat of a prestige play to elevate the Empire above the Other human States of the Old World, I remember in a anthology set in araby they also calls The Empire as "Sigmar's Empire" and the people of the Empire as "Sigmarites" even if that Imperial is from talabecland (Majority Taalite) and Middenland (Majority Ulricans)

The Empire is based on the Holy Roman Empire in the 16th/17th centuries. The naming is based on Germanic traditions of simply naming their empires, " Empire". Which the Holy Roman Empire was basically, except they decided to tack Holy and Roman onto it because they thought it sounded more legitimate. You can see the thought process through the early models up until 6th edition, after which the model designers seemed to not be so historically literate. The naming and geography of the Empire, along with the level of their technology, also gives it away. Bretonnia is incidently very obviously based on Breton, which is in modern day France and has French and English influence. It is based on Breton basically as it was under King Henry I, circa 1100 AD, and again when you look at the map you should be able to see the resemblance.

The Empire is within the 15th to early 16th Century i.e the Renaissance era, Remember during that time Gunpowder was on the rise and The Regimented nature of early modern warfare requires distinct colors and standards for identification in battlefield and Commanding a army in that era is extremely hard without those distinction.

@@hippokrates4494 I wasnt saying gunpowder didnt exist furing 12th century, I was being specific towards the warfare found in the 15th century (I.e during the peak of the the Landsknect and Pike & Shot) many units for the empire was prominent during the 15th century renaissance from the Greatswords to the Great Cannons. Also the OP question was why the empire units looks like clowns? The 14th Century was still very feudal and regimented formations didnt become widespread around europe till the italian wars, Uniformity was needed during the archaic wars of matchlocks and pikes for commanding the forces of a few thousand in deep formation isnt that easy. Yes the 15th and 14th century overlaps as the Italian renaissance came earlier in the 12th century and the German Renaissance in the 14th century however GW is british and the Empire employs early modern doctrines tweaked to deal with monsters.

I want to see navy battle . It not necessary to battle on the sea on the ship just on beach Because high elve/ dark elves /norsca/vampire coast or even some Ogre mecenary they also have fleet - It fun to see vampire count army march under daylight of daytime or vampire coast vs tomb kings in desert - Vampire count /coast should have magic or magic flare to change sky area or weather creat dark cloud /rain or darklight area - vampire can march everywhere everytime - archer/ gunner cannot see in dark or arrow / matchlock /flame weapon cannot use under rain
