Not accurate though. The amazing part is that in reality they didn't bring all that many horses as it was such a long voyage and that's a lot of grain and water to keep on board for the horses. The Spaniards were also very few in number, they were however veterans and had not only superior armor and weaponry but most importantly highly sophisticated military strategists with them. The Aztek by contrast had only ritualized warfare, where virtually no strategy was involved whatsoever, just scream and charge. The Spanish were playing chess while the Aztek were playing with themselves.
@CarlosChavez-eq9sp
@CarlosChavez-eq9sp Жыл бұрын
@@BoopSnoot of course it’s not accurate. Tenochtitlan was so much larger. There were chinampa districts destined to process human waste from the city (200,000 residents by the time the Spanish arrived) and use it later on as fertilizer for the chinampas allocated for crops. It was an absolute marvel of eco-friendly technology unseen by any European city at the time and for several centuries later. London had around 50,000 residents by the same year. And no, the Aztecs didn’t see war as they saw it in Europe, the countless cities and communities across the Americas never developed complex war machines because distances and geography would just require too much effort and resources. I invite you to be more critical when sharing phrases like: “just scream and charge” or “playing with themselves”.
@BoopSnoot
@BoopSnoot Жыл бұрын
Middle-easterners long before learned the dangers of using human waste for fertilizer (as well as pig since they are so similar to humans), and passed this on to the Europeans, who also used fertilizer but animal fertilizer as most horse/bovine parasites are not designed to attack humans. The Aztecs certainly had a war machine, its how they earned the hatred of all of their neighbors that the Spanish later recruited into their military forces. They just weren't sophisticated and organized. It certainly wasn't because they were peace loving, in fact quite the opposite as they were unusually brutal and most of their wars were because of petty squabbles between members of their nobility or as a distraction blaming religious superstitions to justify mass-genocide rather logical combat over resources. @@CarlosChavez-eq9sp

@@josele317 So? What're you trying to say? That the Aztec's action is justifiable just because it's the norm? Sure, it's the norm, but that's unacceptable norm even in that time by many societies too. Slavery isn't just happened because exploitation of the black people, instead exploitation of those in the lower social caste that are deprived from basic living. Slavery happens to any kind of ethnic and culture, it's basically only seen as severe economic divide that being shrouded by masquerade of faith and norm as means of its justification.

It would be in ruins or decay while another empire like the Purépecha would dominate the basin of Mexico, as happened with Teotihuacán

Fkn amazing!!, I wish one day we can see a movie or videogame doing the same, here is random fact that doesn't have much to do with the video but so people can read it, the Spanish didn't fight alone they convinced other tribes to unite them to take off Tenochtitlan. hope this video makes more views your completely deserve it

Enhorabuena!!!
