I think people are choosing quick deaths once they're done building whatever they figured their character would want to build. Lizzie didn't have to die to that enderman. She just used it as her excuse to move on to the next origin, because she had completed all the building experiments she wanted to try in the End with this Floran persona.

Its always a good idea to keep some chorus fruit on you when bridging across the void. If you eat it while falling to your death, it will teleport you to a nearby block that you can safely stand on.

I'm not a great builder either, like Beans or Lizzie! But ideas can come just by looking at what blocks are available locally, or relevant to the character/situation. then featuring them and seeing what they can do. Or just choose any block you haven't worked with before, for a change. I think most creative slumps come from having too much to choose from, so you can't decide. Limit yourself to maybe 3-4 blocks to feature, and then just work the heck out of them, and usually things turn out looking pretty cool!
