Just finished a cruise on the adventure which marked finishing cruises on all three of the last P&O vessels over the last 18months. Very sad about it all ending. But don't like the carnival branding/Decor in Aus so it will be Princess cruising for me in the future I think.

We sure are. When the announcement was made, and that the Pacific Explorer is leaving I researched the last cruise. As West Aussies, I was thrilled to see Fremantle was the embarkation port. We traveled on her last year so looking forward to doing so again. We have now done multiple cruises and the real standouts of this ship are the vastly superior Aussie coffee (looking at you Starbucks), tap beers at most bars (Quantum of the seas you could learn from this) and the genuinely wonderful and high quality cocktails at the bonded store. We have now sailed on Virgin, Holland America, Royal Caribbean and P&O, and by far, the bonded store on Pacific Explorer has the best cocktails.

P&O originally left our shores with the old Oriana being retired in 1986. Its only the take over of Sitmar after the passing of Boris Vlasov that P&O came back to trading in Australia with the magnificent Fairstar keeping cruising alive in Australia.

I was cruising on Pacific Explorer when P&O made the initial public announcement. The ship was in a sad state of repair showing signs of lack of basic maintenance and repair. Rust everywhere, corrosion coming inside on the dining room windows, lifts not working and lift interiors missing screws and rails and even wall coverings peeling off. Our balcony was very rusty everywhere with big gobs of paint peeling off the rust fungus. Very sad to see but it looked like the P&O maintenance folk were well aware of what was happening.

Grrat video Chris, thanks for sharing ❤️ I'm really sad that p&o will be more. The pacific explorer on the first cruise after the shut-down was out first ever cruise we did. I waited over 5 decades to do that cruise, and then my cruising life began ♥️ were going on pacific adventure next month on a 90s cruise, so that should be fun ♥️really looking forward to it ❤️

Im so sad I can't get on board before the "end". I do want to sail in the P&O UK ships, especially Aurora. I have always. wanted to get on board either the Explorer or the others.... Another classic thing I have missed... Farewell.. but I do know YOU will be fully documenting this sad, but historic event..

Thank you ,Chris, im a little puzzled with Carnival taking over these ships . why they didn't just keep them in the Princess fleet is beyond me . they are princess ships ! it's like a dictatorship in the carnival corp. .. they don't look or have the carnival look at all.🤔

That is Carnival LOL. They just painted some Costa ships with just some Carnival colors but you can still recognize the yellow Costa color and made them Carnival ships .

I`ll farewell Pacific Encounter from the shores of Brisbane .. In December we do our Family Christmas Cruise oin her then that is the end of cruising for me and my Family .. Sadly cruising has never been the same since the pandemeic and I just can`t seem to get excited about cruising anymore and the closure of P & O Australia has really dented my spirits

I have done a lot of P&O cruises and is it because they are loosing money as Australian port charges are what we call a ripp off to expensive with extra regulations . I have found a P&O UK that is good value on that ship , but do not understand how the new Digital ID works as it comes in UK next month.
