It's one of the best and most watched cartoons by far on HBO Max, which has a larger audience then prime

So glad this atrocious "Scooby-Doo" take got cancelled! It was just downright awful and a complete insult to the classic characters we all know and love from the OG 60s cartoon! The Animation Industry deserves way better than this!

I appreciate that it ended off with the Halloween special. with no followup the direct assumption is that "velma" won't be brought back to life and her soul will be dragged into the depths of eternal suffering. Where it belongs.

Erhm well, partially. Because the thing is these movies are failing internationally too, and countries like China, Russia and the entire middle east do NOT allow these things. These movies gets pulled from their cinemas and streaming services in those countries, so that's a massive hit when it comes to the international box office. So while LGBT content may not have the greatest effect on Western Box Offices, it sure does the international one. So if you want to make money, it just isn't a good strategy. If this is moral or not, that's another discussion... I mean... The same here goes for black lead characters. China and much of the middle east do not like black leads... at all... So erhm... eeeeeerhhhh.... As much as I am tired of DEI, that is pretty wrong. Going by that people like Eddie Murphey or Dave Chapelle could never have gotten a chance either.

@@olleselin I didn't say there was, but I did say if your aim is money. Then that's a risk because you cut yourself off from half the global market. Now I would LOVE it if Saudi Arabia wasn't so homophobic. If you could actually go and fix the very legitimate homophobia of the middle east, I would APPLAUD you. But sadly that's not the world we're living in. I'm not a fan of how China treats black people either, I find that pretty evil. But that still means that China doesn't show movies with black leads, and yeah that's evil, but that does cut studios off from that China money they so desperately want.

you have a fundamental misunderstanding going on here you like Scooby doo, and because of that this show upsets you. if you truly hated what they did to Scooby doo, you wouldn't have watched it, because you would no longer care. true hatred manifests as apathy, and apathy would have created the outcome you wished for in season one. if it had zero or really low views, that would have been the end of it.
