Amazing Video. Disney and DreamWorks were my childhood growing up. I loved their good movies but I do have a genuine soft spot for their bad or mediocre movies (Shark Tale, Home on the Range, Bee Movie, Chicken Little, etc.) and I can't hate them. Love em or hate em, A lot of their old movies like that were subjects of Experimentation but they were made of Love and Care. Nowadays, They try expermination but rarely do. That's why their experimental films do so well. Hell, Chicken Little was the hit that saved the Walt Disney Company back in 2005 and it's rarely looked upon by the company. Hell Chicken Little only made a minor Cameo in Once Upon a Studio and they didn't bring Zach Braff back for it, which was genuinely disappointing. Hell, I doubt they're gonna do anything for the film's 20th Anniversary. These companies changed so much since 2005 and I don't know if it's for better or worse.

It's just like some of those straight-to-DVD movies which were just three episodes of failed shows: Atlantis 2, Cinderella 2, etc.

Belle's Magical World was another Tarzan and Jane and that Hercules sort-of-movie are examples for shows that *weren't* failed

@@sesquipedalianloquaciousne4035 Moana 2 is better but also worse because at least in those direct to video episodes I can watch them in full not all sliced and put together. I know Moana 2 is more movie-like but I would rather watch any of those DVD sequels over Moana 2.

YOU KNOW WHAT I JUST REALIZED They did this with Jimmy Neutron but the other way around, where it was like "Look, we can make film quality 3DCG animation on a BUDGET to the point where we can make almost the same quality as a series." And the Jimmy Neutron TV series looked BETTER than this 'movie'.

Hell I rather go back and just rent a movie, I miss the times when you get excited to go and get a movie to bring home and watch it until it's due back. Now that I'm an adult with money, I can just buy these movies and shows and just keep them forever. Buying a movie for 50 bucks is worth it than giving it away every month for streaming platforms you don't even use half the time.

An easy solution is to make 2 versions of DP 3 is Disney wants to censored him. One r-rated version and one PG 13. This way, everyone can see the film; adults, teens and kids. It's imple and can make everyone happy 🙂

They announced a sequel and showed some art. Isn't it a bit of a jump to just assume it's a scrapped show until we see more on it? It could be a regular sequel, not something you'd see in a direct to video.

With different villians and every in this spinoff. Robin Williams said no to this shockingly. So they had to bring a different actor for the geine

The reason shows have gone down from 10 to 8 episodes is the same reason they went down from 20-30 anime episodes to 12 (as an average) per season. Cost vs Reward. Why spend all of your time and money pouring it into 20 episodes when you could poor just over half of that into 12, get a better product cause even though you have more money per episode you are paying less overall and if the show flops you don't lose as much as a 20 episode show, and if it does well you can prepare another 12 episodes in 6-12 months for the fans (normally). That 2 episode different is actually quite a bit of money when you break it down... an episode of Hazbin Hotel costs 300,000 roughly. So that's over 1/2 a million for the two episodes they cut saved... now you might try and make the argument 'Well hazbin hotel was garunteed to succeed look at the fanbase'. Yes... but no. A lot of fans weren't sold on the recastings until they saw them in action. The cast from the pilot was the same grade as the Helluva Boss cast... though Helluva has drawn a few bigger names... Moxxie, Strykers original VA, and Fizz.... Hazbin was riding a razors edge with fans pre-release... and that 2 episode different meant a lot... IF the show did well, gread. If the show did poorly... that's half a million extra down the hole. Now for the megamind movie... this isn't anything new... and if they do that with moana... it's not surprising.... Alladin 2? Belles Magical World? Tarzan and Jane? The list goes on and on. This has been a normal practice in the industry for over 20 years. The second I saw the animation quality I knew what Megaminds 2 was going to be... and I wrote it off and didn't think about it again. This is from someone who's favorite dreamworks movie IS Megamind... now it might actually be the fact that I spend 4 years learning about the history of art and film... but... yea this doesn't surprise me in the latest.... Company does thing it's done for a long time > fans get mad > product comes out exactly as fans expected > fans get even madder. It's a cycle of ignorance and shows a HUGE lack of self awareness with movie 'fans'.

Disney, why are you turning a Moana TV show into a sequel (I know the answer is more money)? Did you learn nothing from Belle's Magical World? Or Cinderella "2"? Or Atlantis "2"? I don't know about you, but "Moana explores other islands" sounds like a better premise for a show. Actually, maybe it's my love for Tangled: The Series talking, but I think most follow ups to Disney revival era films should be shows. Their worlds have so much to explore that 90 minutes wouldn't be enough. I'd go so far as to say that Frozen II and Wreck it Ralph 2 would be better as TV shows.

I’m losing faith in Disney 😔, they are liars like for example before they released the movie Onward they announced that it was going to have a LGBT character only to have a less than a minute appearance and then with the movie Wish they say it was going to be Disney masterpiece only to end up a flop 😑

To be fair, every studio claims their newest movie is gonna be a masterpiece. And results on movies may very. So i can't get mad at Disney really for saying wish would be good since that's just an advertising tactic for most studios.
