7 Years ago, when we made the full switch from 4e to 5e and I also started to DM in DnD, is when your channel and content was a gold mine for me. Always on point, calmly explain, no loud noisy videos, but all just on topic. Exactly what I had a need for at the time and a few more years. I realized by now, I wasn't even subbed anymore. I'm not in need for educational videos on DMing or playing DnD specifically. The few DnD "related" channels I follow these days are only 4: Matt Colville, Pointy Hat, Ginny Di, Bob the Builder. (technically some more that focus on writing and/or world building not exclusive to DnD but in general) And I admit, I watch them more for inspiration or even more, just entertainment. Thank you so much for the great help you have been! Good luck and much joy with the new channel!

When I finished school and moved from a big city to a tiny town, someone walked by my office and invited me to join their TTRPG table with some local friends. I didn't really understand how to build a character, but Guy, you were there over 7 years ago. When we were a few sessions deep and I wanted to improve as a player, you were there. When our forever GM moved away, you were there, and gave me the confidence to step up as the new GM of the party. When I prepped my first session as GM, you were there. Over the years, as our party tried new systems and invited new friends, you were there. From backing and reading your books, to watching your videos, you have taught me - more than any other - such a tremendous wealth of what TTRPGs are all about. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. After experiencing the fantastic solo Star Trek series you made, I can't wait to see what's next!

@@HermieMunster The algorithm is doing it's job. It's not rewarding creators for time, effort or quality. It's rewarding creators for viewer retention and the number of ads you can make them watch. This video probably hit the mark as people that stoped watching his videos because the content do not fit our interest anymore still watched his video. Algorithm think it's a good money cow and promotes it to people that might be interested by this topic. That's the sad reallity of youtube and it's neither bad nor good. It's playing capitalism game.

KZbin is the worst and I truly wish there was a way we could hurt the company as a whole and their pocket book without hurting the creators in the process. It started as a free video sharing platform where you could literally find videos about anything with absolutely zero ads and it has become a greedy, soulless corporate entity where you can’t even say certain words anymore without getting demonetized. Have a channel that talks about or shows guns and you’re finished. Hear music in the background or anything else someone may think belongs to them and your channel gets removed with no real way to defend yourself. Don’t agree with or promote KZbin/Googles world and political views and your channel gets cast to the shadows so no one can find it. When problems do happen, usually at the fault of KZbin, creators can’t get any help and are often told “oh well that sucks.” They’ve gotten too big and powerful and they need to be humbled. Unfortunately as I mentioned I don’t know if anyway for that to happen without the creators we all love getting burned in the process.

One of my favourite moments was directly messaging you about a campaign design problem (ultra-wealthy villain motivation), and you didn't just respond... you literally made a whole episode about it (How to determine what your Villain Wants). That was 6yrs back... and I still haven't started that campaign because of reasons. I do also totally get the finite channel thing. I literally started making (bad) videos because I spent a long time in one series of games, and discovered that people just did not understand how the game worked. I uploaded the best I could manage at the time, knew they were bad, still think they're bad, still plan on redoing them... and yet, somehow, despite having not uploaded in over 4yrs... people still inexplicably show up. I will, inevitably, run out of content for that one series, no matter how much hairsplitting I do. One story ends, begin again. See you on the adventure channel.

Even if you don't end up reading this... Thank you so much for everything you have done over the years! Some of the original groundwork that I made when creating my world had roots from your early worldbuilding videos. I have been creating and running my world for the last 8 years. I will never forget how your videos shaped the foundation of my world, even if it has change so much from where I started watching your videos. My world is one of my proudest creations and I have you in part to thank for that! I wish you the best of futures ahead, I will totally be watching your Guy D'adventures!

Thank you so much for years of inspiration, self reflection, new understandings and new perspectives. You have truly had a major impact on me and my play group. As players as GM and as people as a whole. Thank you Guy and good luck. 🎉❤

I nearly cried watching this, dude. Your videos really helped me learn to GM (I've been doing so for nearly four years now). I used your advice on worldbuilding and character design to make my own world and elaborate history. I used your advice on naming things and giving them personality, which has created many spectacular adventures and characters my players loved. I especially used your advice on pacing and plot points (still need to work on that though). To this day, I find even your older videos still relevant and helpful, and I go back to watch them from time to time. Thank you so much for taking the time to make these over the years. Here's hoping your new channels will live long and prosper!

You were the first D&D channel that I found, and a lot of my initial GM style came from your advice. Of course, my style came into it's own after many many years, but your channel is always the first one I suggest when people ask me for GM advice. Thank you for the journey, Guy. Thank you for the advice. Thank you for the resources. Thank you for everything ❤️

6:04 this is really odd to me, I've never heard of KZbin limiting what you can do with a 2nd channel. At least here in the US, it's pretty normal right now for gaming KZbinrs to make a second channel because the second channel has way better ability to find new people and rack of views.

He has to be using hyperbole. "KZbin" I think is the dropping viewer base

@@erichjohnheller2373 I disagree. I think he’s literally talking about KZbin the company because he talked about going into their London offices

Thank you for all the great advice through the past few years from when I first picked up the DMG to today running a homebrew campaign, you have always had videos answering questions that I've had and surely have made myself and many others better DMs! Bless you and whatever comes next for you I know will be great!

I’m livid that the algorithm hasn’t been putting you in my feed. Discovered you around covid, I think? Maybe a bit before. And I’ve loved everything I’ve seen. Thank you for making me a better gm

Sadly KZbin just wants quantity regardless of quality. It's a crap business model, and loads of creators who should be allowed a platform are being, as you said, "culled. Shunted off. Etc.."

You have been absolutely instrumental in giving me the confidence to be a GM. Yesterday I sat in a coffee shop all day with one of my players giving him the same advice you gave to me. He will be running his first adventure, unbeknownst to the other players, on Saturday and I cannot wait. I will be following both channels

I'm going to miss this channel. I have been playing and running games for more than 30 years but there is always something new to learn. You helped me to challenge myself and refine my techniques to be an even better GM and storyteller, so from the bottom of my heart, thank you for everything you gave us. On a side note, I am a huge fan of Star Trek and I can't wait to check out your new channels

Thank you for everything Guy. You're fantastic and helped me not only with my GM'ing but also with my own confidence and communication skills in my daily work. Will be following you in your new adventures but wanted you to know just how much of an impact you had on me! :)
