"Who are these people? Why are they watching?" I'm not here for minimalism. Not even here for van renovations either. Your videos just feel nice, like a grounding moment of quiet wisdom. Plus, they feel like something I would make if I had the guts to talk to a camera. You, or at least the person I see in your videos, feel like a helpful stranger with some intelligent things to say about stuff, but in such a nicely non-aggressive way. And I dig it.

I would call this Cartesian Minimalism (yeah, Cartesian from René Descartes): you reduced (nearly) everything in your life to the bare minimal and now you can start adding them back, but consciously and in control of it. Descartes idea was that he couldn't know if any piece of his knowledge was true, given he's believed in things that later turned out to be false. So he decided to "demolish" all his beliefs by being skeptical about everything, and then he'd incorporate them back one by one with attention to make sure he was only admitting what held firm against scrutiny. It's like if you have a basket of apples and you think some are rotten: you take them all out of the basket and then let in again only the ones that are good.

I cannot remember what brought me to your channel. But I didn’t stay because of minimalism. It was just you - as many have already said, your voice, your wisdom, your authenticity. (And, uh, the wink too.) It felt like when you organically and randomly meet someone and have a moment for a chat and find a sage soul, and when you walk away, you feel recharged and want to spread those good vibes to someone else. Each of your videos feels like that. However, that still doesn’t mean you owe your viewership anything. Those of us who so appreciate what you put out to the world - we cheer when we see a new notification from you, and we cheer for you when you take needed breaks, for however long. Any direction you take us in as far as content, we’re here for it! We just like YOU, Lefie. 😉

4 years ago I got out of a 3 year long dead end relationship and discovered minimalism. I got deep into it and became a very hardcore minimalist, to the point I was sleeping on the floor. What I didnt realize at the time is that I needed to feel like having a fresh start. 5 years later and i am a very different person, and I have alot of stuff. The "self destructive" thing you mentioned was me 100 percent. It's such a weird feeling to describe

The thing is: I got invested in minimalism because of you. I had no idea what minimalism was. And I still don't know why youtube recommended your videos. But I'm so glad I watched it. I don't remember if the first video was the self-discipline one or the uniform one. I guess I watched both in sequence. The simplicity and frankness you show, damn, it was fascinating. And the blink and smile at the end literally got my heart rushing. I truly got a crush on you. I'm not a minimalist. But I'm more conscious of what I do in every aspect of my life. You sent me into a good spiral (I normally just shove myself in the bad ones), and I learned so much about myself and my relationships with another people and the stuff I own. I've learned to make space for the things that truly matter to me. I got to figure out WHAT matter to me, and I'm with 24 and married since 18. I guess it was about time, right? Anyway, thank you.

I like how you articulated these pulls to minimize and maximize. A lot of times I find myself overwhelmed with the compulsion to do both and do them perfectly… like I can’t be satisfied until I’ve completely reduced, pared down, artfully disposed, etc. And at the same time I’m supposed to make the most of every waking minute-as if there is a blueprint for that. I think your videos show the value of incremental change in these pursuits, which I appreciate. Also, I totally support your new direction! You’ve been so good at creating within this minimalism niche, but I know you have a lot more to offer. Looking forward to it :)

You are a breath of fresh honest air. I personally think you have distinguished yourself as a lighthouse in the choppy waters of current times. Chaos begets destruction. Destruction begets the clearing. The clearing begets openness. Openness begets freedom of movement. Movement generates creativity i.e.: life itself .... you my dear have been a living expression of the mystery of life and have allowed us in to participate. I chose that word over "watch" because whatever source you have tapped into....resonates with me and clearly many others. If I'm resonating... I'm vibrating at the same frequency..... therefore I cannot say I'm simply watching or consuming, especially when I immediately put something I observed you do into action, even if it was just contemplating a new question in my mind. I appreciate you. I appreciate your journey and I'm really looking forward to what life springs forth from you and your collaborative audience. Namaste is the most appropriate thing I could say to you. Maktub is another.... if you haven't read it.... check out the alchemist... you are definitely an alchemist. ❤

Hi Lefie! I actually loved to hear your take on any journey. I felt that your philosophy was what I fell in love with. I am all about the process of anything. I bartend and I have been methodical in my craft and you have offered the same into minimalism. You have a detailed understanding of yourself and what you wanted and it was iconic in a profound way in me. Everything that everyone does on a daily basis is never put into perspective on such a detailed way. It's revolutionary within itself. F the people that hate. As I always say "Take me as I am or watch me as I go. " I love what you have brought to the masses and living large is hard but...sometimes we have to see the bigger picture and it's scary. It always takes a village to benefit from learning. I congratulate you on your journey and hope to see your perspective in the future. Until then ... wink wink.

I randomly stumbled upon your channel a year ago when I was exploring minimalism for the first time. To be honest, you humanize minimalism in a way that not a lot of other KZbinrs do. You made me feel that I could be a part of a meaningful movement without even dramatically spacing out the last three words of your every sentence. You made me feel included, and you aren't even sponsored by Skillshare. I think it's fair to say, we came for the minimalism, but we stayed for you. I watched your NYC pride video when you posted it, and realized that we were in the same city, at the same parade, having super similar days, and it made me feel like "Yeah! This is a human I am similar to. This is someone I wanna be like." Thanks for showing me that there's several ways to be a minimalist. :)

Although I clicked way back (I might have been one of those 200 LOL) because of minimalism, I’ve remained because you are a talented, engaging, thought provoking videographer! Glad to see there will be more to come.

I just like your philosophy of life and just being very through on just your perspective. You are very full of ideas that most people haven't explored. I would like to see your perspective on a general approach on everything that you see in your world and how it relates to you. I wish I could spend my 12 day working and she'd some light on the bartender side of life with the crazy I have to deal with during this period of Idiocracy. Dont like politics but just to document that people are crazy. You do you Lefie! We all just wish our voices can be heard with an audience.

I've never been a minimalist, just bought a hella lot of clothes and stuff thru shopping therapy from loneliness and depression. I came upon you thru recommendations on my KZbin app. I thought you were and are so cool. I even told my therapist about your channel lol. I have recently finished all the decluttering I feel like doing- over 60 things thrown out or recycled. It was you several other like minded KZbin's who got me there. My only vice now is Tiberland boots on eBay. I would love to hear you talk about time management or watch anything you would care to do

@Lesdoigtsgentils the shopping therapy happened in my 20's tho I kept them for years. Now I'm changing my identity thru weight loss and therapy so I need new clothes - recycled,too- thanks

Please continue doing videos, it doesnt matter what you will do as long as you enjoy it! I got here because of minimalism, but I liked your authentic personality. Godspeed

I am interested to see your journey post minimalism. I also feel like I have reached the end. Now it’s maintaining and using my time for hobbies and investing in relationships. I am trying to work on self care now too. I like your calm, encouraging videos. Also you are right about social media.

Came because of minimalism and stayed because of how you reflect, discuss and provide a new perspective. I still watch your videos because of how your brain works as well as the joy I see when you make them. You do you, have fun!

Watching your videos feels like talking with a big sister. You know, that wiser being who tried things and teaches you how to try things by yourself, the caring and kind human you can have hours of conversations about life at the very end of a sleepover night. Like almost everyone in here, I came because of minimalism and I stayed because of you. That feel good and quiet feeling I got from your videos is pretty unique. Thank you for this ❤

I'm sooo glad to see you're back! "Whatever you feel like doing" sounds just about right. Your opinions and reflections on life are very interesting (e.g.: that video about the festival in Portland, Maine). When I watch your videos, I feel as if I were listening to a friend. Big hugs from Buenos Aires Lefie!!! ❤

Good to see you back again! I follow heaps of minimalism-related channels, and yours is particularly humorous, quirky and friendly - probably much like yourself. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on post-minimalism
