Hi Jacob ! I am a norse pagan. I like very much your videos. They are very interesting. I have ancesters from Danemark from the viking era and I was happy to have information from those places you showed us and to learn about them. Thank you very much !

Idk maybe the fact they had to go so far as to place a giant stone telling everyone they're Christian means that area used to be the *most* pagan ;)

"Something" is there. And you are touching upon it. We need to give the scholars and archeologists their due credit. They have done their part. They have unearthed something or nothing. But, the exact same conclusions have been formed regarding the burial mounds, built at the same time mind you, here in the North East United States. Hypothesis will be formed based upon "evidence" but we will never truly understand it all until we all cross over to the other world. Thank you, Jacob for all the hard work. Keep on your grind. You are doing more than just Norse Pagan work at this point.

Daaayemmm! That place is amazing! Thank you so much for sharing this incredible video. I feel honestly that there is something metaphysical about it. I actually sensed it while you were talking about it. You probably weren't able to do this, but an offering to the Gods seems to be needed there. Maybe that's why Thor showed up, lol. Terrific video. Thanks, my friend.

Two weeks ago, I was with my friends on a 4 days long trek in the mountains between Albani and Montenegro (Prokletije or Cursed mountains). When we were walking in the valley in some little forest, sudenly a raven croaked at me and kept looking at me - I immediately felt like its Odin 100%. (I tried to speak with him, firstly by croaking at him back - it felt so natural, then by words.) Me and my friends were scattered on the road around 15 meters long spaces between us, but the path was not straight, so we didn't see each other. So when we met each other on the next stop, I started happily talking about the raven (Odin), but nobody else saw him or heard him - so it felt much more special for me. Some time ago, I was into Norse paganism and stuff, but it somehow faded away, so this gave me the boost I needed. Currently making a "Odin's totem" out of thick iron bar and getting into Norse paganism once again - hopefully forever.

MY COMMENT KEPT GETTING DELETED, so I divided it into 2 parts: second part -> 4 months ago, I tried to ask you @Jacob a question in IG direct message about some quote from poetic edda. You had to miss my message and didn't answer me, so I am going to ask you here once again :D "Hi, I am currently reading The poetic edda and trying to get into the Norse mythology etc. Also watching some of your videos on KZbin... I found this interesting part in Harbarthsljoth where Odin as Greybeard speaks with his son Thor and Odin says: “Odin recieves the powerful men who fall in battle, and Thor recieves their servants”. I am not sure what to think about it, the first part clearly refers to Odins Valhalla, but I don't understand the other part with servants. I have seen your video about afterlife with your quotes from this book, but I don't remember you mentioning this part. Thanks for your reply."

As for the graves being empty - happened in many places in Denmark and Norway. An educated guess is that Harald and the Christians wanted to erase every trace of the viking kings....gugl "Gåden om Danmarks første konge"...four DR docus truly worth seeing.

Watching you touring Europe (Germany and Denmark) is wanting me to get going and trace my ancestors footsteps. My mother’s mom’s side came from Sweden through Denmark into England then to North East US and finally landing in the upper Midwest Do you think that the people that didn’t want to convert would off themselves so they didn’t become Christian?

I'm thinking maybe there was a battle, genocide or disease that killed a lot of people who needed burying in this location? Another theory is that there was an expectation of end of days scenario and the ship representation was created in preparation?
@vaknama2 жыл бұрын
I’d wager that something is being hidden away at that location, something profoundly Norse Pagan!

The flat sandy soil of Denmark is why the majority of vikings lived in Denmark ( = why Ribe and Hedeby in Denmark was the biggest Trading cities in the Viking age ) Sandy soil is also why Danish argiculture to this day produces food enough for 3 times the population of Denmark. Norway= mountains, ice and cold = couldnt support a big population. Why Norwegian sailed out and discovered Iceland, Greenland and Canada in hope of better farming. Sweden = dense forrest = couldnt support a big population ( they established Trading routes to Constantinopel and founded Kiev \ Rus-Vikings.) That most vikings was Danish, is also supported in the fact, that the english called them Danes. England was ruled by Danelaw = Danish Law etc. Danes where the only ones with a big enough army to conquer and settle. This is also why the population of Sweden and Norway today, eventhough the countries are 10-15 times bigger, only have the same / nearly same population of Denmark.

With the ship to Valhalla in a Christian setting; there’s two frames of mind you have to go with. 1 is it was a place where all could live together in peace. The further you got from Rome or whichever church, the more open minded people were. Crusaders killed villages of Catholics, pagans, Jews and Muslim who all lived in peace; cause the crusaders said your not our kind of Catholic. And people didn’t transition overnight into a new belief, it took generations, so you had families who were following different faiths. 2 is they were remembering their past and just whitewashed everything with Christianity. And actually a 3rd would be they weren’t 100% Christian, they had a facade of Christianity to appease the main king and government but were still practicing the old beliefs.

@@mikilr true. And most so called pagans now, hold no resemblance to their ancestors. Some quick examples are the fear of blood and taking life. The enjoyment of riches and money. Now these don’t institute the idea of being snobbish or you have to acquire an elitists’ mindset. However I believe our ancestors would honestly be ashamed at the idea that we don’t want as much money as possible. And for most this is a phase, and for the ones who won’t last in their beliefs and jump to the next thing every time as the wind blows, I call Christians in hiding. For they want to instill the ideas of Christianity and the ethics of modern Christian Era to the mindset of being a pagan. Being that what most pagans want is what Christ preached. A socialistic society with no belongings and the state should take care of you. No way am I saying to become blood thirsty. But take pride in your culture, history, family, and nation. Stand up for what is necessary, mostly your own. And don’t take shit off people.
@VoodooViking2 жыл бұрын
@@mikilr I think most people can concur on that terminology.

@@mikilr I get where your coming from; and each their own, each has their own path and draw to whatever being that works with them. Some don’t need anyone else, others do, and others need actual religion while others don’t. It’s all a matter perception and intuition. I am a Druid, I am drawn to the gods and they’ve always watched over me. They’ve always provided. No matter what. I do believe that each has their path, and no one should tell others how to live theirs. Not insinuating anything

@@mikilr ok; so, what makes it an actual belief/religion in comparison to previous ones. When your going by that your staying just a fly by the seat of your pants for whomever believes whatever they believe? For something to stick it needs to be defined and have rules and structure. Something of sustenance for people to get out of it.

@keithdrummond10032 жыл бұрын
As to why is a burial site in the shape of a ship? Why are there no bodies in the mounds? I'd guess their Christian beliefs firmly took hold by the end of building this. Conversions aren't usually overnight unless it's forced. People eventually saw the pagan burial rites and opted against it. It just took time. Just my guess.
