Great documentary. I learned about it reading an article about Bill Barr in The Atlantic.

Yes weather is cyclical indeed. Its the widening oscillations of hot and cold, rains and droughts that will tumble us all into a hellish existence.

Well what do you have to say about this past storm? 81" in 3 days at mammoth.

Some science, like tornadoes, snow storms form from the mixing of warm moist air in the south and cold dry air in the north. This is why every year has had one giant snow storm, but nowadays you have that storm some time in the winter and have the latest trend of hot cold winter where a few days are cold then a few days warm. A giant snow storm doesn’t make a problem obsolete and can rather shows more evidence of a problem. It’s luckily only been about 8 years since we had consistent snow so we have the chance to stop it in it’s tracks. I have tried my best to keep this as unbiased and not political as possible as there’s already too much politics in the world.

@@ChefBuckeye Politics aside. If you look at the Central Sierra Snow Laboratory, the snowfall has been pretty consistent over the past 140 years. I will say 2012-2015 sucked pretty bad coming in at 15 feet of snowfall. But the average snowfall of 34 feet has been holding pretty consistent and it doesn't look like much of a downward projectory. But if you look at 1890 - 1930 they went from 60 feet down to 20 feet. Also in 1940 to 1980 they went from 70 feet to 15 feet annual snowfall at Donner Summit.

Pshhh, that's weather not climate. When it's hot, now that's climate, not weather. Get with the program and hand me over some carbon tax money. Daddy has a climate change conference in Nice to attend.

Hopefully 2023 has reduced some of the climate alarmist's fears! All time high snow levels EVER recorded in the Sierra Nevadas. Earth has gone through warming and cooling cycles for eons. I worry much more about the next cooling trend than I do a slight warming. That's why we call the warming cycles "Optimums". It's optimum for human flourishing.

Hey, the snow is coming back. Colorado is opening ski resorts at their earliest in decades. Funny how that happens. It’s called weather, and it’s cyclical.

Trolling aside, are there any widely accepted models that show a huge reduction in snowpacks? The last 20 years is obviously not long enough to declare the western USA drought a long term trend.
