I like when you analyse the possibilities which did not happen because I always want to know. It would take me a long time to check all the possibilities. Another case of bullying by the fish. Thanks Josip.

B14 Panov Attack - Closer to the truth, my friend!

What a gem of a game !!

Dear Josip, once again I can't completely agree with your analysis of the game😂 The critical point of the game was after 17.Bxg5 ! Now the next move 17.- Bxb2 was already the decisive mistake! The critical line was indeed 17.- Bxf2+! 18.Kxf2 Ng4+ 19.Kf3 f6 20.Bh4 Rf7! 21.Kxg4 Rg7+ 22.Kf4 e5+ 23.Ke3 Qb6+ 24.Kd2 .... So far your analysis is correct... But now! Your variation continues with 24.- Qxb2+? 25.Qc2 Rxg2+ 26.Re2, which gives White clearly the better game.... I analyzed the position after 24.Kd2, and my Stockfish presented me with a much better continuation! Instead of 24.- Qxb2+?, which is a clear mistake, Black had the brilliant counter-sacrifice 24.- Bf5!!, and now 25.Bxf5 Rd8+, and despite the fact, that White is two bishops up, black has an enormous counterattack! The game could continue 26.Bd3 and only now 26.- Qxb2+ 27.Ke3 Qb6+ 28.Ke2 e5-e4! 29.Bxe4 Rxd1 30.Raxd1 ; and here we have a really difficult endgame where White has enough compensation for the Queen, but is still in danger with his King on the open field. There is by far no clear advantage for White! With my best regards, your fan from Germany😊

This opening was an ordinary Panov's attack (by transposition). The so called accelerated Panov happens when white takes twice in the center: 1.c4 c6 2.e4 d5 3.exd5 cxd5 4.cxd5. Besides, this games features only a specific variation of the Panov's attack. Black has many other different ways to react to the Panov's, including the well known drawish line 1.e4 c6 2. d4 d5 3. exd5 cxd5 4.c4 Nf6 5.Nc3 Nc6 6.Nf3 Bg4 How can such a solid defense like the Caro Kann be refuted by this game?!

Well this line was on the board.

I'm not a chess profissional (only 2,200 on Lichess), but, in my opinion, after a3, the retreat Be7 (defending the kingside) is much better than the game continuation.
@Jozarovschesschannel Жыл бұрын
Yes it is. More solid, attacking the d Pawn wasnt a good idea. I agree

It is true that engines have shown for about 5 years that the C-K is refuted.

Assuming best-play chess is a drawn game, every defense ends up refutable in the land of supremely competent engine chess. Human chess will always take place well, well short of such level of play. So many of the takeaways from supremely competent (i.e., alien) play are very much immaterial to the game played between us lowly humans.

@@jaybingham3711 Top players benefit from engine opening analysis. Look at how few top players play the KID compared to years ago.
@jaybingham3711 Жыл бұрын
@@dannygjk A handful of humanity's best (SGMs) does little to extricate the bulk (99.9%) of human play from mediocrity. That said, many GMs still regularly make use of CK. As well they should given that, statistically speaking, they won't encounter 100% best-play from an opponent. And if, say, a lowly NM routinely keeps a KID out of their repertoire because "engines prove"...well, that's just bad reasoning and very much inappropriate. Engine chess is a game of complete information. That's not the case in human chess. Your opponent's mental state together with their idiosyncracies have to be assessed and factored in. Of course, there's nothing wrong with watching and gaining aspiration from engine play.
