In this video, IM Alex Astaneh is continuing the Caro-Kann Defense series with the so-called Accelerated-Panov Variation. The Accelerated Panov Variation can be reached via the move order: 1.e4 c6 2.c4. This move order can also lead to the Panov-Botvinnik Attack, that will be covered in a separate video. After 2...d5 3.exd5 cxd5 4.cxd5 Nf6, we reach the position from where the analysis of the different variations starts.
The main focus of this video is on black's best responses to white's last moves:

10:58 5.Be5+
18:35 5.Nc3

I was researching the accelerated Panov attack as a weapon against the Caro-Kann (as it is pretty uncommon but still sound), and there were nextto no resources in KZbin. So I'm pleasantly surprised that chessfactor serendipitously uploaded a video on it the day after my researching struggles!

Had the Accellerated Panov played against me for the first time in a tournament (Qa4+ variation) and got blown off the board. My opponent was much higher rated than me and helped me learn some of the theory after the game, but this was so much more helpful. Thank you for the incredible explinations!

You have an excellent presentation style, so hats off for that. I do think you should perhaps have spent more time on the main line. White has 2 alternative plans there that might be wise for a black player to know about. The first is an early h4, typically on move 8 directly after 7...g6. While this is not particularly special on the computer, I feel that the black player must at least understand how they should react if they want to play these structures. The second is more subtle, namely playing 9. Qb3 and 10. Bg5 instead of Bd3 and 0-0. Vassily Smyslov has played this, albeit by transposition, so it is surely not without merit. The idea is to make black's e5 break unappealing and thus secure a small but persistent edge. Again, something for black players to prepare, particularly if they take the video advice and concentrate purely on positions including the move ...e5.
