After recent events I am finding the yard a less fun place to be, then there are even more space issues than ever. Add to that, the amount of ill-informed comments on a recent video has caused consider switching off comments, but let's give them a chance first.
Auntie Sophie, the Rover 820 is in the way. Soon, there will containers where this car sits, and as nobody wants to buy it, I am going to dismantle it.

Who wouldn't start to become pessimistic looking at that weather ... I hope that come summer, motivation (and demand) will edge up again. In the mean time, if you are considering it, I would be interested in the rear spoiler off the ignition blue ZS.

Family is always more important than clinging onto some cars that clearly won’t do anything for you. It’s a business, it must and needs to make proper money for you. If it isn’t, something needs to change imminently. Otherwise it’s just a hobby that barely gets you by. You can still fiddle about with Rovers but there has to be a definite balance mate. Spending hours there for barely nominal amounts seems ludicrous now. I hope you find a better solution soon 👍

Been watching for a good while now and ur a beacon for the rover community, problem is the rover community is quite small. Have u thought about maybe doing another make as well? I’d say the mini brand may be good as there is a customer base for all the special seats/trim etc and it’s also rover ish. Rovers will be like gold eventually, but when that is I couldn’t tell u

the last thing he needs is to be concentrating on something with 1/6th the subscriber base and no tangible way of earning a living. That's just avoiding the real issue that the main business has no direction. The time he spends doing live streams that get watched by random American kids he could be making ebay listings for parts that he's stripped during the day.

It’s sad to see that it’s not working out, in fairness Rover parts aren’t exactly sought after so it’s no surprise I guess,it’s nice I suppose to have the moral high ground and say you don’t want to scrap cars but that’s not paying the bills, buy them cheap, weigh them in who’s going to judge? I’m glad I don’t do my KZbin for a job and rely on the money because I can’t be arsed doing it every day, I know you are a musician too but it reminds me of when I was in a band… it was fun until I realised all I did it for was my share of the cash at the end of the night…. New Year’s Eve 2006 the guitar did its last paid gig…..

Hi Paul,sorry to hear of your difficulties, I have been a viewer of your channel for some time now,if you can get £250 for the complete car,do it,rather than £20 here,£10 there,is there another that could go the same way,that's £500,you have to think of yourself, I think you will have to think of " the Rovers " as a hobby or side line not your main income,the drainage is the responsibility of the yard owner.
@BenjaminBaker120
@BenjaminBaker120 3 ай бұрын
Just a suggestion, your reputation as a Rover buyer, seller and fixer is secure. Keep the in demand parts and cars and treat the Rover business as a sideline. Allowing your heart to rule your head in business will keep you happy but financially questionable. Again just a suggestion, consider if you carry on the present path you will be forced to sell up/scrap out and everything you have worked for will go for a burton. I am an HGV driver as well, and I know that many companies value bank drivers with experience, a few days on the road here and there and your passion for Rovers will become enjoyable again and remove some of the need for it to make money on a regular basis.

I think "misinformed" is a little strong - we only see what comes across in the videos without any background info for context. Perhaps thats where some of the harsher comments come from. I'm sure you work your backside off behind the scenes and you're certainly consistent so have a good work ethic. The problem I think is that you seem in two minds as to what you're trying to do - save Rovers, or strip them down. Cars end up hanging around and you get attached to them. Stripping Sophie down is exactly what needs to be done with that unreliable car and it'll make you a little bit of cash straight away as opposed to sitting there until "one day" it might work reliably enough to sell. Even if you did sell it, there's the stress of "will they bring it back" if it breaks down. I think you should really push the parts business - as you say, people always need parts for Rovers they already own. I'd say you're more likely to make a living doing that than selling cheap cars cheaply to people who have no money to start with. By stripping cheap cars you're not "killing Rovers", you're helping other Rovers to stay on the road. You could even buy crash damaged ones to strip whatever parts you don't have in stock instead of travelling miles to look at "not as described" cars that aren't suitable to sell. Bring them all in, strip them quickly, scrap the shell then ebay the parts. Soon you'll have a little leeway in your finances. Think about it - it's better to have a stock of 10 doors available for 10 buyers worldwide, than 1 decrepit old car waiting to be bought and needing a ton of work done in the meantime with no promise of profit in the future.

Constructive criticism is always welcome. I really don't fall out with people for saying what they think. On my previous video, there was some of this, but it opened the floodgates for some to just be aresoles. So many comments from people I had never heard of with opinions that were invalid because the situation wasn't actually understood. No problem with you of course.

Some cars are fixer-uppers and some cars are breakers. If a car is constantly fighting your efforts to put it right then it’s made the decision for you- it’s a breaker. Concentrate on some car people do want parts for, something contemporary, like New Mini, as new as possible, then do the fun stuff on the side. I know its not what you want but if it enables you to carry on with Rover and lets face it, there aren't many about now, then can't be that bad can it? Also VW caddy, Ford Transit Custom, VW Crafter, these are vehicles that have demand for components. You can make some dollar from breaking them.

Wish I could say I know it from the source but in reality I became familiar with it through Monty Python's Oscar Wilde sketch! Bringing it up to date however, perhaps even ill-informed comments are better than no comments as it means folk are viewing and interacting which I understand is looked upon favourably by the KZbin overlords.
