7:49 Why would God need to "test" anyone? He knows the future. How can He become angry at some human's action when He knew it was going to happen for millions of years, or maybe 6,000! How can he laugh? Since he knows everything past, present, and future, there is no way for him to be taken by surprise. He knows the future so how could prayer have any effect on any event we experience, since he already knows. You could say "He's God, he can do anything". But, this becomes a problem because if He actually changes something, it means that He really doesn't know the future.

Fred Derf I had a similar experience, I had pneumonia and was given 4 hours to live. Of course I wasn't told that until I got better. I spent 6 weeks in intensive care, then another 6 weeks in a ward. I knew it was serious of course by the actions of the medical team, it never occurred to me to pray, or ask any god for anything. Glad you're ok.

Funny thing, the hypothetical situation with the ocean the guy suggested happened to me when I was a kid, and still a christian, and you know who I called? Nobody I kicked and waved my hands the harder I could I struggle to catch a breath, the only thing I thought was "I'm dead, there is no way I could make it" and that's pretty much what happens when you're in a near death experience, you don't think about god, you don't think about anything, suddenly your survival instincts takes control and you just react, I know because I have two more similar experiences later and I acted the same way, luckily that first time in the ocean, there was someone nearby who saw me and help me
