Hey all, bit of a sudden end but I just wasn't having fun anymore with this series and pretty much with Dreadnoughts in general. I won't start a new campaign for now. Too often does the AI just not keep up and does it get very very easy. Thanks for joining the series. I hope you enjoyed it.

I am surprised that the series lasted that long. I think you served longer as Fleet Admiral than anyone in real life lol. I can't blame you for dropping UAD. I stopped playing the game shortly after it's 'full release'. It's not in a good state. I only watched your vids on it for the commentary and odd builds and to see if they did something to actually make the game fun to play again. Time to move on. If you do cover the updates, please throw your opinion if the game improves. The game could be so much better than the mess it is. This means more time for other projects though, so I will happily watch more of the Great War series, if that's what you are focusing more on.

Some of the recent battles Brother Monroe has won were very out of balance with the ships he was facing usually coming out with very little damage, just don't mention subs. Hopefully the Devs can sort out many of the issues you have both found but we look forward to following your battles out of the water now.

Honestly, You gave this game more Greatness then it currently deserves. YOU where the best part of these series. As you noted, the BIGGEST failing is the AI providing NO challenge what so ever. In fact You could probably make your ships WAY CHEEPER and have a MUCH bigger navy and no much would change. You are Rocking STATE OF THE ART Warships in the 1930s from a start of 1910. The AI is barely in the 19th century let alone 1910s.

Dear Mr. Stealth, I will take a moment from preparing for university finals to commemorate this series. What a good one! Thank you for bringing a bit of relief every day from my hectic and depressing life. I definitely know how you feel about this game, and I agree. I’ve found that the only way to keep it interesting is to take on the world; even with the AI’s designs, enough of them still pose a threat. However due to the alliance system, taking everyone on at the same time is impossible, hopefully it’ll be removed soon. I remember the first video on UAD, you said something like “I hope this will be a long-standing game for the channel,” and considering that was three+ years ago, I would say it was. Of course I am sad to see it go, but I completely understand why and would not except you to continue. If you are looking for another game, I have a few recommendations I think you may like: Redcon (made by Hexage), Hearts of Iron IV, Cosmoteer: Starship Architect and Commander, Airships: Conquer the Skies, Frostpunk, or bringing back From the Depths (I have been making something quite interesting in From the Depths, perhaps the most powerful fortress in existence, and I would be willing to put it on the workshop and provide the link if you would like to take a look at something this mysterious person who calls themselves “Dreadnaught” has created). Anyways, I wish you great luck with what you decide to do next, have a mightily industrious day! Yours musically, -Dreadnaught

Thank you for the series; I completely understand you giving up on it. Given the state of the game, how buggy it is and how non-challenging it becomes after a couple of years, I was surprised you even started the Japanese campaign. I thought about skipping it, but I just like your commentary so much that even Dreadnoughts are fine and I saw every single episode ;) Yet, if you didn't do this campaign, we wouldn't have had the Divine Broadside, and the world without her would definitely not be the same! Stealth, for a new campaign as a challenge. Start as China, earliest start date, cant build any ships until you research destroyers (no TB) only allowed destroyers until you win a war vs Japan or Russia than you get allowed light cruisers. Repeat for more ships. This way you should always have under powered bigger ships since the research for them will be behind as you focus for things you can use

The New update includes several new hulls and structures for the U.S. I have to say, after several bug fixes i can actually say POSITIVE things about the game now. The new weather system has had some balance issues but is pretty cool now, the AI tactics have improved for tactical battles (not overall though). The new bits for the U.S are VERY good though, i would hope other nations get the same down the line. However... I still get "stuck" turrets and The torpedoes remain an issue. That being said, I have to say, this beta is VERY playable right now, a few issues to sort out but.. Overall i think this is the best update since the game arrived on steam. I can see you returning quite soon, myself, i can't stop playing now... especially as the U.S.

However, each Race within the GC2:DL Game System had its own Spaceship Design Style. Thus, the Terrain Default Colony Ship looked different from the Yor Default Colony Ship; and, both looked different from the Korx Default Colony Ship. Actually, GC2:DL does have different Technology Trees, and 5 different Warship Design Styles, that are used for individualizing the many different Major Races, and the many different Minor Races, that do exist within the GC2:DL Game System. And, the Player is capable of Custom Creating one's In-Game Race by choosing a Warship Design Style; and, by choosing Starting Technology Knowledge. ULTIMATE ADMIRAL: DREADNOUGHTS does have Nation Specific Warship Technologies in terms of Warship Design Appearances. ULTIMATE ADMIRAL: DREADNOUGHTS doesn't have Game System AI Logic Processes for BBs and for BCs and for CAs and for CLs and for DDs and for TBs. If a Player were to create one's own Warship Designs within the Custom Battle Feature, for both the Player and the AI Opponent of the same Year; then, the Game System AI Opponent would not be able to defeat the Player; because, the UA:D doesn't have the AI Logic Programming for Warship Tactics & Strategy Control. -- That is assuming the Player has any knowledge and understanding of Naval Warship Design and of Naval Warfare Tactics & Strategy Theories; such as, myself.

The campaign mode in this game is just in an abysmal state. The rest is basically a sandbox with very little to do and quite cumbersome on top of it. No mod support. Not a hint of actual game design. The map-UI is a joke. And the devs are working on weather effects. Pathetic. It's a shame. So much wasted potential. Well, at least I got to see the 'Divine Broadside' in action... The funniest part is that the devs are trying to say it’s a finished game, when the ai, economy, invasion, army… heck almost everything is so weird to be beyond a feature. The late game is frustating because the AI is no longer a challenge, but there also isn't a way to win faster, auto resolve always gives poor results and when you run the fight yourself the enemy dies before they can fire a shot. The game would be much improved if there was a way to win faster. Also how you can destroy an enemies entire fleet of a 100 or more ships with minimal losses and it is only a minor victory needs to be changed

Thank you for the series, following along every episode has been a fun ride! The abrupt ending is unfortunate but understandable given the jankiness state of the game, the dwindling views and the pushover the AI has become (how are the USA's ships so middling despite being the top economic power?!). Hopefully you'll do a playthrough once the game is properly polished and bug-free and won't have to suffer as much, but I won't hold my breath, considering the audacity to release (((1.0))) as it was. The collection of (((features))) that is the campaign just feels haphazardly slapped onto the game just for the sake of having it, and the resulting amount of jank is simply baffling for a game that proclaims itself to be complete. Its really a shame since this seems like a game I would've loved to play myself, being one of the rare few ship building games, but after seeing the campaign jankiness from your UAD playthroughs it really has discouraged me from buying the game at all and I somehow doubt that it'll ever get fully finished. Once again, thank you for the series!
@MDP1702 Жыл бұрын
I wonder if the devs shouldn't just make a database of ships designed by (top) players in campaign mode and start using this as a template for the AI to learn from. Don't know how easy that would be though. But as it is the AI is just not worth playing the campaign for (and to me thus also not buying the game), and this is only one of the problems the campaign has. Never mention the economy, political system, etc
@akarinnnnnn Жыл бұрын
I rarely watch UD videos because of how bad this game has become, especially the buggy campaign, but this one was an exception. However I agree that the videos of this campaign were getting boring - not much you could do with this game. Hopefully this means more Great War videos because that campaign series is great. I have to ask though. What was the turret armor on your workhorse battlecruisers, I believe they were Gojira's. When you were first designing them it appeared you had left the default cruiser tier armor on turrets but I never heard any mention if you went back and fixed that or caught glimpse of the armor layout during a battle. Regardless it didn't end up costing you. Though you had 1 Gojira lost to a flashfire I believe that was a result of a belt penetration.

As for the declining views, I think part of it is self inflicted. When the game "released" there was a lot of excitement and lots of lets players made great videos, but then, as new patches came out, everyone started ragging on the game. It got so bad I un-subbed from 2 of them. I stayed subbed to you because you were the best of the bunch, but I stopped watching the videos because I knew every time it would probably be a lot of complaining - and that's not fun. My recommendation, if you pick the game up again, would be to keep a positive tone, even when the game is trying to stop you from having fun. People don't watch a LP to see someone suffer through a game they no longer enjoy.
