Huge congrats on graduating! I saw you at new sid last week, but it looked like you were busy with grad pictures and I didn't want to bother. Just wanted to say that against all odds, I got into Rice and I know that you and your videos were a big reason for that. Thank you for helping not only myself, but so many other people and I wish you the best of luck in your new chapter.

Consider me another one of your comments o/ It was really insightful hearing about your YT journey (and really nostalgic seeing classic MC mods & parodies again). Thank you for being one of the biggest reasons I decided to apply - and got accepted - to Rice! Best of luck with all that you choose to pursue.

We first watched your video in January 2019 when our son chose to go to Rice. We once saw you walking around the campus but did not say hello because our son did not want us embarrassing him. I wish I could have thanked you in person and how much we’ve enjoyed your videos. Thank you for making them! Congratulations and all the best in your future endeavors! From an Owl mom

Hi, Gerald! I stumbled upon your channel this evening and am really enjoying it. I'm a Rice alumna (Hanszen, 2003) living in Denver. My husband - whose name is also Gerald! - is also an alum (Sid Rich, 1997). Watching your videos took me right back to some really wonderful memories of my time at Rice and gave me the best kind of nostalgia. Rice is an incredibly unique and special place, and it's lovely to see a KZbinr highlighting and sharing it. Congratulations on your graduation, and best of luck to you in Seattle! I look forward to seeing what you will do on KZbin next. (And if you like folk singer-songwriters, you might enjoy my channel!)

Hello Gerald! I’m really glad to see you succeed.you’ve inspired me to give it my all in school and live up to high expectations . I’m a freshman and I want to do really well on the SAT and my current classes. Is there any tips to score high on the SAT that you could give me?
@GeraldWang2 жыл бұрын
The one thing that I felt was the most impactful in my scores was doing practice tests. At least when I took it, previous SATs were very similar to the one's I took and so if I were able to do really well on the practice SATs then I could do well on the real one. I'd say find practice SATs, do them as if you're taking an actual SAT and then review them to see how you did and what questions you need to work on. Good luck!

Gerald do you ever think you disciplined yourself too much at a time? Or are you happy that every time you told yourself “I need to focus more and conserve my time” I always look back on those moments. Some were rightfully calculated some were overthought. I love your videos though I just found them

Thanks so much! And yea, there are certainly times where I felt like maybe I should've let loose a bit more and just enjoyed the moment. But at the same time I look at where I am today and the things I've done and am happy at the choices I've made overall.

@GeraldWang Жыл бұрын
Yea, feel free to ask me any questions regarding Rice. Though I may not be able to answer some as it's been over a year since I've graduated.
@ritvikrajesh170 Жыл бұрын
@@GeraldWangAh ok, no worries! So I understand you originally planned to go to a medical field but decided to go with CS instead. Did you originally apply to college with your intended major being that medical field and changed it to CS later or did you put your intended major as CS?
@ritvikrajesh170 Жыл бұрын
I ask because you must’ve done some summer activities to supplement the original intended major and not anything in CS since you said you had no prior programming experience.
@GeraldWang Жыл бұрын
@@ritvikrajesh170 Unlike a lot of universities, Rice actually lets you switch majors very easily. So I did apply with a medical focus. It was only after a semester that I found out I wanted to pursue CS instead.
@ritvikrajesh170 Жыл бұрын
@@GeraldWang Oh that's great! Thanks for the reply and clarification! Is there a long process to switch your major or do you send in a request and they will evaluate your academic profile?
