That's something that often gets lost cause people are superficial and shit, but the source of Kratos' nightmares over his family were never some curse or outside influence, it was all him. Guilt that he never came to terms with... People often bitches about the series being imature with all the sex minigames and the raging and shit, but they never realized that it was all Kratos trying to escape and forget what he done. If anything, the reboot feels like the devs running away from their embarasing past...just like Kratos once did.

I find it hilarious how the Gods (The Furies in this case) can take away Kratos' memories of what he did, but not the nightmares/visions that plagued him, which is what he wants in GoW 1, until Athena was all "nah bro, you evil, we can't forget that" and then everyone proceeded to passive-aggressively or directly antagonize him, causing him to kill everyone.

Alecto bossfight is one of the best final boss of the series in my opinion. The ambient and soundtrack fits perfectly, I still got shivers every time I see her monster appearance. Cant wait for Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta!

The atmosphere, story and characters are pretty cool and as an action game it is pretty similar to God of War. Just to peak your interest: You play as one of the Four Horseman of the Apocalypse and fight through hordes of demons on a post-armageddon Earth! It's one of my favourite action fantasy games.
